Hello all, I'm a future OTR driver and was wondering about unusual essential things to bring...
the list now is Shower slippers (not too unusual), CB would be nice, empty coffee can for emergencies, anything else....? :?:

A disposable camera to cover your assets in the event of an accident.

good work gloves (leather or the rubber dipped ones)
steel toe boots
rain parka
papertowels
moist wipes
TP
garbage bags
sunscreen
lip balm
can or 2 of brake cleaner
tire guage that goes over 100psi
first aid kit
camera for regular pictures (some nice scenery out there)
disposable camera for accidents (god forbid)

pretty much anything you can fit into a regular sized gym duffle bag is good to have.

:idea: When taking showers at truck stops I bring old newspapers and spread them out on the floor then change into my SHOWER SHOES or FLIP FLOPS

If you wear contacts (I do), a couple extra cases and bottles of solution.

Aspirin.

Gloves.

your CDL manual..Incase your wondering about something..(never stop learning)

Hand written phone number list...Never know when your cell phone can get broken or lost, then your stuck not knowing anyones number..

A small (short handle) sledgehammer.

Ya just never know...

i would also bring some hand sanitizer, and clorox wipes so you can wipe your shower shoes off and kill anything someone may have brought inot the shower before.

a good recent motor carrier atlas (Rand McNally)
lots of pens and pencils and a small sharpener
markers
duct tape
pocket knife or multi-tool
a good reliable flashlight (maglite, surefire, etc)
cell phone with national coverage, with a car charger.
and what ever you feel you really need out there

I have a surefire flashlight, had it for years now....BEST one I have ever owned.....it's only about 6 inches long, lightweight, and is much more powerful than my 4 cell maglight. But dang them little batteries can be costly :?
