You live in the Dalles? What about the old ernst store next to safeway there. Last I saw it was empty. but that was a few months ago...

Or over at Dallesport, theres nothing there either.

Yeah, our city has a stupid law about parking your truck at your house for more than 24 hours. You cant do that, but there are old junky cars that just sit, and rot in front of houses all over town. I like living here, but our city comes up with the dumbest ideas.
Wow, didn't even KNOW that. Good thing we didn't find that out the hard way. You know the crazy thing, the night his trailer got broke into the police were out too..never said anything about it being here. Just started parking at the truck stop this last time he was home so its been here at the house at least half a dozen times

The Capt of this little police department finally gave in and said I can park longer than their 24 hour ordinance. As long as I don't leave the reefer running past 10pm, which I wouldn't do anyway, and leave my contact number in the window. It's street parking, actually close to Safeway, so hopefully some knucklehead doesn't mess with it. I've seen some Haney trailers parked there so maybe it's an ok area. It's amazing that people, knowing these rigs bring food to their towns, aren't more trucker friendly.

I parked the truck with no trailer in front of my house and my neighbor complained that I was washing a big ugly truck in MY driveway. I was fined $250. Major BS

Do you know of any truck repair shops around your area, sometimes you can arrange to park a truck in their lot if they have room, some may want to charge you though,

I guess my hubby and I better be thanking our lucky stars. We live in a great neighborhood. He parks the semi at home and I bring my big yellow bus home everyday. The neighbors don't care at all. The kids in the neighborhood love it. It is so cute my hubby and I have both taught the kids how to do a proper pretrip and posttrip of the truck and bus.

i always had good luck with my customers like sears, lowes, grocery stores, and some banks providing they had enuff room. also, call your local police dept and ask if they have any suggestions, they have helped me on several occasions when i was gonnabe stuck w/o a place to park for a few days.(The police are also a good way to get directions to a customer). hope this helps
