Some OTR carries also have a 7/4, 7/3 plan (out for 7-days, home for 4-days and then out for 7-days, home for 3-days) as well as a 7/7 plan, but you may have to live in certain lanes for that to happen. I believe that those types of schedules was designed for the senior trucker who wants to be driving--just not as much.

Stay away from OTR and the big carriers and you'll find tons of jobs that allow you to have a life and sleep in your own bed more often than not. Sometimes the money sounds smaller but when you figure in road expenses you'll come out ahead.
