Default Hauling Logs?

Anybody here have any experience hauling logs? I looked online and found most log trailers were 42' long.

I talked to a friend of mine the other night and he said he would consider hiring me in a few months when he can acquire another truck. He only owns the one he is driving now. From my understanding, he has been doing this for a few years. He knows my experience level. Told me he would spend 3-4 weeks training me. I would run solo hauling logs, railroad ties, or misc lumber. He is home almost every night. I don't need to be home that much. But, if am home it is a good thing.

Any input appreciated.

Most log trucks are always very heavy or overweight. You will likely get into alot of muddy fields too.

Does your friend take good care of his truck?? Some guys with only one or two trucks don't worry about safety too much or HOS.

I've hauled Logs both here and in AK.
In Mich. we pull doubles with 8' lengths sideways and we're allowed around 165,000 #s Legally.

In AK and most of the west where they pull pine depending on the size of the tree they pull 3 trees Length wise.

Default Log/Hog Hauling

"C.W McCall used to haul logs with his Kenworth." I thought it was a Kenworth hauling hogs, as in go-go dancers. BOL
