I have a cobra 29 nighstalker or something like that where it lights up at night. It is a very good CB radio had it for almost 3 1/2 years and havent had any problems with it. I think next one im going to get a galaxy radio get something with a echo in it already. I have a echo in mine now and it does really good. I think it makes the CB radio sound more crisp and clear to me just as long as you dont have the echo up to loud.

[quote="ssoutlaw"You watch to many movies, speaking about brain capacity, [/quote]

Hope everyone catches the irony in that profound statement. It's not tooooooo subtle.

As far as peaking and tuning a radio, a decent shop will get into a box for not much cash (the 99 on I75 in Ohio charges 20 bucks to tune a 29) and makes a world of difference on how far it throws out. Friend did a 29 for the 20 bucks and it goes out for 4-6 miles when at 4 watts it had a hard time getting out a few.

Of course on day cabs your fighting the match everyday, you OTR guys can set the thing up, match it and leave it so maybe you have more consistent performance.

Now having that time off I need to get a few items we all need. So my question to all of you is what do I need to know to purchase a decent C B Radio. I've never used one (say for a few choice words to my fellow drivers that is). What are your recommendations in finding one. Thanks for any info....New

I have a question about the Cobra 29 Nightwatch.

I have read on this forum to stay away from the Soundtracker models. It was said they were junk. However, the model 29 without the Soundtracker does not have the weather channels.

I'm confused as to which I should buy. I dealing from a position of ignorance. Should I buy the model 29 with Soundtracker to get the weather channels or buy the other model to avoid the Sountracker and not get the weather channel???

personal choice, sound tracker isnt that greata thing. I didnt need weather bands because they are on the stereo. I have a cobra 29 nw st. Why did I get that one, well it was on ebay and i bid 65.00 and I won. So thats what I got. I say compare what you really need with what you are willing to pay and get the one that has the most of what you want in the price range you are looking for and who cares what everyone else thinks because no matter what you buy, someone is going to tell you they dont like that brand, model, something.
