By pulling the 5th wheel up closer to the cab that should make the weight transfer more weight over both front axles and trailer axles right? I like topics like this, more to learn before I go to school.

You were lucky on the scales. Always ask where the closest scales are before leaving the shipper.
From the #s you have to slide the tandems forward 4-5 holes. The suspension gage {if you have one} works wonders. Mine was at 75# when the drives were at 33800. Also, don't load to 80,000 lbs with no fuel {its winter don't run out}. Fuel is 6lbs a gallon. Getting the truck loaded correctly takes some thought, its just numbers and balance. I once drove 100 miles before scaling, I'm cool. They had loaded an extra pallet :shock: of carrots. I was at 82500#, no where to hide it. It was a long night, as I had all ready called in loaded... ops:
