Get some chain hangers on your rig. I wouldn't want to pull them out and sort them every time either.

got that right-having to pull them out of the bag every time is a pain.
Plus when you're in Oregon it's good for them to see your chains so you're not pulled over and they say Let's see your chains :P

To chain up one axle of duels, it should take no longer than 10 minute from the time you stop, until you get back under power. 15 if you struggle with the chains for any reason.

It usually depends on how well they where put away.

Think of it this way, when you put them away do it like the next time you put them on you will be blind.

A really good tool is to get a light that straps fits over your head. that way, you don't need to have three hands to chain up, two for the chains, and one for the flashlight.

It took me 10 minutes flat the first time I chained (2 sets). 6 should take less than 30 since I only have to get in and back over them once.
Most guys up here can throw 2 sets in less then 4 minutes, the guys pullin super b's that throw chains every day in the winter.
I think the worst I can remember is that I had to chain up six times in one day. I was meeting my schedule out of Vancouver in Grand Fords, and there are three mountain passes between here and there. I had to chain every one of them, both ways.

What do you mean Oregon, you forgot Washington and California. Oregon stops you before the pass(Mt. Ashland) same as California(Donner). Washington stops you at the scales, all of them. I picked up a load in Blaine, WA going to Sacremento, CA and with a PrePass got pulled into every Washington scale on I-5 that was open to make sure I had chains with the truck.

Reason I said that is Oregon Requires you to carry chains whether you decide to park your truck or chain up and go.

California doesn't-They can, and will, bust you if you don't have them on but California doesn't require you to carry chains in the Winter.

Suppose that's clear as mud eh but that's the best I could do :P
