Yeah, that's what I did. Use my little key to tighten them up as snug as they would go, then put on bungees. Worked very well the second time around and no more broken links.

Hey wreck-are you sure you have the right size chains for your tires?
I'm assuming they're company issued eh?

Yeah, they're company-issued. Like I said before, they all seemed clueless about them when I picked them up Tuesday. The shop foreman, a veteran driver of over 20 years, said he'd never used chains in his life and had no idea how to put them on. He said drivers were coming in left and right to grab chains, but that was because CO simply requires trucks to have chains, not necessarily to have them installed. I knew I was heading into a blizzard and was going to have to cross the mountains, so I had every intention of installing them, but no one knew how. I can only assume they're the right size for the drive tires we use. I really have no idea.

If they gave em to you in a bag it should be written on it.
You were smart to take them.
Don't forget the peoples republic of Oregon with chains. They're worse yet. :P

I've been reading a good bit about Oregon lately and their ridiculous laws. God forbid I ever have to go there! Or CA for that matter.

California isn't as bad as the horror stories you hear as long as you have your ducks in a row.

It has always been my experience that too much road speed is what breaks chains, that and running them on bare pavement.

Merry christmas Yoopr.

I know I have been ignoring the board, but work has really put a lot of things on the back burner.
