Sometimes I wonder if a Mack can be beat offroad, have yet to get stuck, hauled sod out of Belle Glade or lumber out of some mill in the woods, or slate out of a quarry, she just chugs along.
I love Petes but everytime I see one in a truck stop trying to fit in a tight spot with that long hood I love my Mack even more.

ct77, are you a sod hauler? Me too, and the CH600 i drive chugs through those long rutted out sandy roads in and out of the fields we go in to with relative ease. We haul a lot of bahia, so i don't see too many well maintained farms, but every once in a while i'll go to Greenbriar in Lake Placid, and they have a nice set up, sod gets brought out to you, and loaded, and you just tarp, strap, and you're on your way. Anyway, good to see another driver on here hauling "grASS", good luck out there, and don't get stuck...

Are Macks only available with the Mack engines and trannys or are Cat, Cummins, or Detroits also available? 8)

I think only in the CL's you can get cummins but do not hold me to that.
Besides the CL;s you can only get mack motors and trannys.

Seen two tornadoes, tons of Gators, millions of gnats or whatever those bugs are, and sod all the way to the horizon. Will try and post some pics. You are right about getting miles off the pavement blew my mind the first time.
