Wow, drove my dads 05 379 extended hood Pete today. I'm training at school in a 99 Mack 460 and I am amazed at the smoothness shifting in that Pete. So much easier, sooo much smoother. I dread getting back in that cheap ass Mack.
I have been hired by Ashley Distribution and they have Volvos.
You guys with Volvos..... What are they like?

Volvo is the best truck on the road. Quite ride, panoramic view through the one piece windshield you will like driving a Volvo

The new ones ain't as cheap as you think Why do you think your school has MACK trucks. Cuz you non drivin newbies will beat a truck up and a MACK is the only one that will take the beating and ask for more.

Ha, Ha, I can take the newbie thing. But I aint a bad one. Its in my blood. But, yeah my pop said that Macks are some tough trucks.
But the one our school has will make you second guess yourself about how smooth you are.
I won't be second guessing anymore after smooth sailing that awesome Pete.

But I aint saying I still got alot of learning to accomplish.

I am looking forward to captaining that beautiful black and gold Volvo.

I was not calling you a bad driver but that's what a school is for to teach new drivers. My dad has a 06 Pete and that thing is nice but it ain't taking a beating like a mack would. Me and my old man go back and forth all the time about peterbilts and macks you got to hear us when we are both drinking. lol :lol: Its in my blood to 4th gen. driver.

One of my earliest memories as a kid was riding in my pops daycab Mack.
I was probably 5 or 6. I had to take a dump in the middle of nowhere and he stopped by some woods and made me wipe with some leaves :shock:

I can remember that Bulldog on the hood and thought that was so coool.

I gotta agree with Mackman, i drive a 96 Mack CH600 in and out of sod fields in south florida every day. Just a quick insight on what it takes to haul sod...Farmers call the sod cutters and tell them they have 60 acres that needs to be cut, sod gets cut, I take the Ol' Dawg back in there and load up 18 pallets of sod, and away I go, all the while on undeveloped commonly known as "pig trails" for roads, sugar sand, mud, whatever you can think the old mack gets it done. Sometimes the shiniest thing on the road ain't the most practical, I'll take my Mack anyday when it comes to running off road. Mackman keep representing the macks bud, they're good trucks definately a workhorse. I presently have 793,000 miles on the 96, and it runs great everyday.

I used to hate mack trucks before i started driving i like the big shiny petes and kw. But mack has a shirt with a bulldog on it and it says "Starts on the hood and gets in your blood" That what happen to me once i started driving them i like them alot . But then again i drive local.
