Redlight!!

Methinks your record isn't as squeaky clean as you would lead us to believe!!

I have it on very good word that less than a month ago, you were caught red handed trying to sneak through the grocery store express checkout line with 12 items when the sign clearly limited you to ten.

This combined with your aberrant behavior twenty years ago, suggest to me that you should forget about a driving career.
I found it:

Quote:
§395.7 Checkout Lanes.

(a) Except for a private motor carrier of passengers (nonbusiness), every motor carrier shall require every driver used by the motor carrier to use the proper checkout lane using the methods prescribed in either paragraphs (a)(1)(2) or (3) of this section.

(a)(1) Every driver who operates a commercial motor vehicle shall record his/her duty status in a checkout lane, in duplicate, for each 24 hour period. The duty status time shall be recorded on a specified grid, as shown in paragraph (g) of this section. The grid and the requirements of paragraph (d) of this section may be combined with any company forms. The previously approved format of the Checkout Lane Log, Form MCS 59 or the Multi day Checkout Lane Log, MCS 139 and 139A, which meets the requirements of this section, may continue to be used.

(a)(2) Every driver who operates a commercial motor vehicle shall record his/her checkout status by using an automatic shopping cart on-board recording device that meets the requirements of §395.15 of this part. The requirements of §395.8 shall not apply, except paragraphs (e) and (k)(1) and (2) of this section.

(a)(3)Every driver who operates a commercial motor vehicle shall use the correct checkout lane as prescribed by the requirements of §395.8, conforming to the alotted amount of items that the checkout lane allows.

(b) The duty status shall be recorded as follows:

(b)(1) "Off duty" or "OFF."

(b)(2) "Shopping Cart" or "SC" (only if a shopping cart is used).

(b)(3) "Driving" or "D."

(b)(4) "On duty not shopping" or "ON."

(c) For each change of duty status (e.g., the place of reporting for work, starting to shop, on duty not shopping and where released from work), the name of the city, town or village, with State abbreviation, shall be recorded.

fmcsa federal motor carriers shopping administration
by the way my wife went over the 70 hour shopping rule this weekend. She almost got caught, but the sales associate (DOT) must have thought she weighed just right, so he let it slide.

hey greg, its going good. Im still out with my driver trainer. He is supposed to pick me up tomorrow evening. I got home last Monday night to spend Thanksgiving with the family. My wife put me to work sitting in line overnight at best buy, then spent the weekend putting up some 3,300 christmas lights on the outside of the house. So I get a vacation once the trainer comes and gets me lol. So far I really like Maverick. They have done everything they promised and thats includes that I would be home on Thanksgiving. I am hoping to be out on my own by Christmas.
Thanks for asking and take care.
