I just did a web search putting "CFI trucking company" in my browser and got every concievable question answered. There are some guys here who are CFI driver's, but still...going to the web sources is so complete on this. It gives current job openings in California.
The CFI website doesn't list California as a hiring area. Would it hurt to call?

If you are not in their hiring area then they will still hire you but can not gurantee home time because you are not in their hiring area.

Thanks, roadhog.

No experience yet, but that's okay. I guess CFI is something to look forward to after the numbers turn for a little while.

They also have a training program it is new and not on the site yet CFI is where I am heading to Oct 2. Going to crowder community college 4 week school cost to me is 1000 and they pay 2000 and then 475 for dorm and food then i go with a trainer for 7500 miles making 26 cents per mile. Then solo. NO CONTRACT but they request you pull at least on load with them. We are going husband and wife team and will start at 43 cents per mile i beleive or 41. If you would like the specifics call and talk to christine in recruiting she can give you all the details.

For those of you that may be interested in what CFI's hiring areas are, you can go to http://www.cfidrivers.com and check it out, or just go to this link:
http://www.cfidrivers.com/hiring_area.htm

CFI will hire drivers outside of the area, but you would have to sign off on a waiver that you could not hold them to the "hilite" policy for getting home.

If you are in the hiring area, the policy is that you will be home/enroute within 5 days after hiliting....or be paid to deadhead home. But if you lived outside the hiring area, you would have to understand that it could take a few days longer to get you home than the 5 days. They would in fact work as hard to get you home as anyone else, but its subject to freight availability to your home area.

But, please, do not take my word as "gospel" on this.... get it from a Recruiter at CFI. They are the "gospel" where this issue is concerned.
