i have over a million miles with class c trucks..but im having trouble shifting the 9spd transmission....on the downsifts with no clutch..getting it but not yet...do any of you double clutch?..or just shift(dont know the term) speed shifting without the clutch?

Its called "slip-shifting"....and there is a special technique to doing it. You also have to be very familiar with the truck that you are shifting that way. Double clutching? Sometimes. Depends on the terrain. There are times when you want to do it, cuz' its smarter and better than slip-shifting.... It also will depend on how heavy your rig is and so on.

After reading the last few posts of this thread, I decided to see if I could still double-clutch after 7yrs of not touching it.... ummm it didn't work so well LOL!!!
I couldn't hit half the gears, and grinded the rest...... as for "knowing the truck" you are right, but I can slip-shift anything I get into. Hell, I slip shift my Viper even now. As for my trusty old FLD, I can slip thru the gears faster than most, and it amazes me even that when loaded at 82,000 i can do it just as well as empty..... it takes time but eventually you will get the hang of it.

I don't know how far back you went to find that typo. Doesn't matter. I'm curious as to HOW you found CAD. FIRST post and you want to correct spelling? It's okay.... we do it all the time! I see by your login that you are a VET of the Iraq war. THANK YOU for your service, and I'm glad you are here! I guess YOU should know about "troubled times" more than most of us!
Are you interested in getting into driving a rig? This is the place to get the best info! Again.... thank you for your service.... and I hope you find what you are looking for here at CAD.

There are great trucking jobs out here, and sometimes you have to spend a little time in the trenches. My wife and I run team we run out 5 days a week and made $16X,XXX the last two years as company drivers. We actually enjoy our job but it is hard work somedays.
