Default CR ENGLAND PAY FOR FUTURE TRUCKER

Truckers are very kind and helpful people and I appreciate every positive comment from experienced drivers here. I have alot of apps to fill out. I am looking for something that will keep me close to So Cal and at least every other weekend at home. England was 6 weeks out, (BTW never turned down a single job, and was never late on a delivery) and 2-3 days home. And for the future england driver... talk to all the England Drivers out there before you sign a lease. Company Drivers can make 700 a week in a busy week, typical is more like 500-600 (Before taxes that is) but once you start leasing, forget it, there are many different reserves that are all paid for from your income before you see DIME ONE!! I will see if I can find a statement. Ok I found a statement, here is a real world accounting of a week at CR England as a lease driver. If you go to a lease Your are your own worst enemy and I will have nothing more to say to you.
weekly mileage was 3039 for the week, not a bad week, ran my ass off. Gross pay which England always talks about Gross pay in Class, (ask them what their Net pay is and they wil never answer you), anyway my Gross pay was $3563.85! Wow you might think, but just wait...
Expenses: Fuel (the biggest) $ 1851.96

admin settlement 3.46
FHUT 14.06
Insurance admin fee 5.00
legal fees 2.98
permits 56.26
insurance (truck) 128.31
satellite usage 15.00
truck payment 631.47
General lease reserve 157.25
Performance Bond 33.33
Quarterly Tax reserve $251.60
Lease Mileage $94.35

Gross income $3563.85
Total Expenses=$3245.03
Net Pay $318.82 and that's before taxes or CR England's accounting service ($210 per quarter) are taken out cause they gave me a month free to test the waters with their services.

there were no tolls on this one but I ran from Hershey, PA to Redlands California most of the time, and my tolls were averaging about 80-120 bucks a week.

Now you can think I am not telling the truth or that there are other sides to the story, but that is what i did, how much I made and thats a pretty good week, in fact my second best as a leasor. I did get one check of 689, but then the following week I was in the hole 350 bucks. It depends on timing of fuel usage and a few other details. Tolls suck, and head winds are depressing. When all you got coming is a few bucks and you budget your fuel, and you hit a head wind for say 800 miles like west bound through New mexico, arizona etc all you can do is watch your hard earned money go up in smoke. Yes you too can have a job like this with CR England, just ask one of there instructors. I took the time to do this for the guy going to England school. I had poeople telling me not to go there but I had already committed to their school etc so I wasnt listening too much and found that once you finally jump through all of the hoops to get CDL, then to get onto a truck and go through the many stages of criteria England insists you meet, it is not worth the time it took me to write this for you. But if I can save one driver from getting screwed I have accomplished something worth while.

To any other drivers with experience, I am located in Lancaster, Ca. and have 6 months on the road experience. I am looking to make 1000 per week or better (I am pretty sure with the right company I can do that) and am willing to stay out 2 weeks with a weekend at home. More home time would be good too. I have a beautiful Wife two kids and am about to become a grandfather and being on the road like I was with England was very tough.

So there's my 2 cents worth and I hope ya all have a great day and keep the shiny side up!

Thats your fault bro period. I have seen a solo lease ops pay stub for 2 months straight and you were doing something wrong. There isnt any reason for them to make you fail. A couple of things come into play, were you fueling on their network, were you maxing out your hours on driving, were you turning down loads, unless you are business minded you are not going to make it. Of course they are not going to tell you what your net pay is, that is up to you to figure out, how are they suppose to know how hard you will run or if you are lazy or not, come on man. England is not out to get you as you make it seem, they dont make money unless you do your job. And you need to be good at trip planning. Its a business and you need to run it like one.

Ok bro, you go get em. I have offered every bit of info to try and get you to open your eyes, but I see you are determined to believe their BS, so good luck to you.
FYI, As I mentioned I never turned down a run, I was never late, and I always used fuel network and I ran out of hours by legally logging almost every week. But you are the expert so enjoy your Career at CR England. My best to you and may you get a really good DM cause your life depends on it.

gregsdigital I am on your side. I see many people who went with the lease option fail, and not with just cr england. BTW I don't lease and I don't drive for england.

Here is my question to you futuretrucker:
If C R England is charging the customer $2.00 per mile to get the freight hauled and only paying the fleece operator $0.87 or whatever, then who pockets the other $1.13, hmmm? England gets their 50% for doing 10% of the work, sounds like a good deal to me.

Please start a thread when you do become a lease operator titled "what was I thinking?"

Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Would you not to the same thing, they are here to make money and so are you, no one said you are going to get rich trucking but you can make a nice chunk of change. Unless you find your own loads and do everything then yea someone is going to take a piece of the pie. If you are a o/o and are using someone to get loads from do you think that they are going to pay you what the shipper pays them, its business. I dont plan on leasing but the option is there if i want to but i'll most likley stay a company driver till i learn about the expenses it takes to run a truck and how freight moves.

Well at least I know you can make a few bucks as a company driver. When I finished school they said that my calss wa the last that would have a company driver option, that they were going exclusively Lease op only. I assumed that you were going to be leasing and just didnt want you to end up getting f'ed over like myself and at least 12 other CRE drivers that I became good frineds with. I am glad for your pals they are making money a touogh thing there. Are you aware that you will be driving for 30-45 days with a trainer and be paid only $50.00 per day when you start with england? Be prepard to starve. I told myself this was the price I had to pay to get ahead with them as you are probably thinking the same way. As a solo company driver I made between 400 and 600 per week, its ok if you are sinlge but I have a family and a $2K per month mortgage so it didnt work for me. I was told aboput how I could make 3000-3500 a week as a lease driver and well you saw the actual numbers. Anyway, I subscribed to your blog and I hope things go well for you at England or wherever you wind up and be sure never to have an accident or you are history with them, I mean any accident. One of my fellow grads had a dock worker open his door and didnt reallize it and pulled foreward a tad to reposition, bent the door a bit, and he spent 7 days in SLC re-training. and made zero that week while still having a 700 dollar truck expense and all the other expenses too. There are and you will see when you get to SLC hundreds of retrainees out there at any given time. Remember they are all "fresh meat " and if you think its easy backing a 72 foot rig into tight spaces, better think again. Accidents are very common, even with old timers that are experts, ask any one of em, all it takes is one split second of not paying attention to all of your mirrors etc, Ok well again good luck to you.

You need to pick a diffrent profession bro. All you have done is whined about how everything is england's fault and how they are out to get you. Its not tough to make money if you do your job and keep your nose clean, at least they try and retrain you before they fire you over a accident. 18 days in school, 3 days orientation, 21 days with a trainer, 21 days with a lease operator in the c.a.t program. I'm not going to school empty handed, 400.00 is a good enough amount to start off with till i get with a trainer, not to mention that my wife works full time at the hospital. 3 weeks untill i get my first check from them but no biggie for us. I have experience backing up a semi in a controlled enviroment but i'm no expert by any means.
