Clee - how's the hits post-politics?
#11
That's not a bad thing!
As Clee stated, we can still talk about that stuff which is good. Another place I frequent just shutdown their Politics section out of the blue. Apparently the folks who pay for ad space or something didn't like what was being posted in a restricted section so the owners shut it down with no warning. The owners put out an ultimatum, ANY politic talk is a ban from now on. They didn't spell out any "gray" area's, simply put you talk any type of politics whether it's sports related, trucking related, etc, your gone. Be thankful we can still talk about it here.

The definitive cubed root of …oh look, a butterfly!
Would microwaving cats fall into that category?
indubitably
Next time I step on a kid’s toy, I’m going to microwave it along with the cats!
Especially when I tell a libtard to piss up a rope.
And, as you can see.... I'm not allowed to "call names" or none of that other FUN stuff anymore! I gotta tell ya, dude.... when I investigated your links to your publisher and the book and all (which I did thoroughly,) ... and saw that PICTURE of you? Wow... what a shock. You look nothing like how I pictured you! You look like a...a... um... a.... TRUCKER! :eek2: But... IIRC... you've never actually driven one, have you? Maybe, I'm wrong... and if so... I apologize. Doesn't matter.... you've always given us good advice and info from someone "inside" the industry. Yeah, I'm not ashamed to say I miss you, Twilight. We had our differences both private and public. And we had some great discussions and/or debates. But, I didn't miss the implications of your post that said that "after taking some time off, I can even put up with the likes of the Hobo." (paraphrased.) So, if X is constant (Hobo) and Y is a variable (Twilight) then, f/y = X , if and only if, X is positive. If X is negative... then Twilight wins!

Just sayin' .... I don't really care. Got no skin in the financial end of this thing. Have never spent one minute on the CAD homepage... except when I have to re-login to the forum.

I can safely say that none of those members will be moving here and that's a good thing. It's a sports site that had an off-topic area kinda like the Anything-Everything section here. In that area they had a sub folder for politics. It was rough in there, needed a hard hat and waders to go in.

So, if X is constant (Hobo) and Y is a variable (Twilight) then, f/y = X , if and only if, X is positive. If X is negative... then Twilight wins! ![]() I left CAD because of two reasons - the smaller of the two was that I was simply getting burnt out on babysitting; had nothing to do with you as a person/poster or any other individual. I was just tired of having to be here doing what a mod does. The larger reason for my leaving was...well, now you know what that was. Writing is enabling me to plan for a life for my family far beyond what I could do driving a desk. It's tough and takes a lot of work. The 4 weeks spent editing had me up until beyond midnight every night working on the manuscript, getting it right. Hell, I even gained 6 pounds during those 4 weeks because I sat on my butt all that time. But the door is open and I'm going to take that path as far as it will let me now and quite literally, the sky is the limit. But back to CAD? I stop in now and then because I've been a member here for 9 years, a mod for 7+ of those. I've cultivated some friendships with some online personaes that can only be found here...and yes, that includes you, if you can believe it. I pop into another board occasionally, for the very same reasons. But I try and steer clear of the politics and the religion these days...no time to fight it out and no real inclination to mix it up any more. I'd rather direct my online meanderings to more worthwhile endeavors. Back when I was on the old Truck.nut a number of years back, I used to write satire under the name of The Poison Pen, kind of as my creativity outlet. I had a blast doing it and had more than a few late nights working out the prose. Maybe someday I'll break out that inkwell again and do one for CAD. Lord knows it was a lot more fun that fighting about politics and there's plenty of nutballs here that would provide some great fodder for one of those satirical leaps. But the point is, the political infighting and the bickering and arguing, while a somewhat enjoyable distraction at times, has lost any real appeal for me anymore. I always had more fun as a poster when I could be creative and make people laugh. When I was just making people cry because my political arguments were so spot-on and frustratingly impossible to refute, it wasn’t nearly as much fun. Today, I just don’t care for it much at all anymore. Focus changes, as it did for me.In the end, though, it ain’t about holding grudges. Sure, people piss me off and I destroy them as I destroyed you so many times. But to what end? And why hold on to the ire? So coming full circle? It wasn’t a negative implication…it was a ‘meh, it was what is was’ statement and that stuff is long past.Cheers.
both sides of the ballgame. The industry is a ***** these days and everyone from your CEO to your driver, is struggling to discover where it's going to end up and where their place is going to be.
There is always an exception to every rule: I have to say proudly as a driver I have never been more happy. This year has been the best year for my wife and I in the realm of job security and financial growth, monumental growth that has just blown my mind... I am even able to contribute a great deal more to my youngest daughters 529, if we are able to stay on this track she will have enough cash to complete graduate school "in state" if she chooses.. I think our good fortune is due to the fact that we are both in a business that has not been effected to much by our countries current situation, I love pulling fuel.... By the way I have asked you guys to support Jeff Boss for president.... Timberwolf
