OK. There's kooky and then there's insane . .

There have been times when I wished I'd been packin' because of where I was forced to park, like in Chicago or Compton. How freakin' unstable does one (or two) have to be to draw down on someone else in a "dispute" over a parking space?

Detention hearining for Ashe County man set for Tuesday in federal court in Charlotte

"Robbie Howell later told a friend he'd beaten his wife so hard he'd broken his right hand, and that he had to finish beating her with the flashlight, according to the complaint."

I'd say that cousin of his is also quite a piece of work. But, I didn't see that he's been charged as an accessory. He should be.

Do you suppose this "cousin" was such a chicken*****, that instead of throwing his cousin out of the truck and helping the wife and daughter....he reported the "unauthorized" passengers to dispatch during a fuel stop?

Seems like that is what it would take to keep charges from being filed against him.

School Bus Full, check. Driver on the Phone, check. Drivers Ipod on, check. Run 11 stop signs, check. Kill someone, check. Done this before, check.
School Bus Driver Using Phone and iPod at Time of Fatal Crash
And, then, read the story. What was he doing driving anything?
A school bus driver was allegedly using his cell phone, listening to his iPod and suffering exhaustion after not sleeping for two days when he crashed his vehicle - full of children - into a car, killing its passenger, local media in Philadelphia reported Monday (local time). Incredibly, it is the second time Frederick Poust III has been accused of causing a fatal accident while using his phone at the wheel.
Poust, 38, was charged with vehicular homicide Monday over the latest horror incident, on February 17th in Montgomery County, CBS3 TV reported.
Video from a camera inside the school bus shows Poust going through 11 stop signs before colliding with a car, killing 27-year-old Richard Taylor and seriously injuring driver Freddy Carroll, 41.
Prosecutors said at the time he was using his iPod, talking on his cell phone and had not slept in two days.
In addition to vehicular homicide, Poust was charged with 45 counts of reckless endangerment - one charge for each student on the bus at the time of the crash.
In 1999, Poust was dialing his girlfriend on his cell phone when his Ford Explorer went through a stop sign, crashing into another car and killing a two-year-old girl.
HIs was issued with two violations, one involving a death.
A lawsuit afterward resulted in a six-figure settlement and reignited a legislative debate over cell phones and driving, philly.com reported.
His employer, Student Transportation of America, said it checked his driving record - but the screening had not revealed the 1999 accident.
“The alleged actions of one driver on one day should not reflect negatively on the difficult work school bus drivers do safely and successfully every day,” said the Perkiomen Valley School District in a statement.
“We defer to the decision of the appropriate law enforcement authorities regarding their initiation of criminal charges relating to this tragic accident and believe that further comment regarding those charges would be inappropriate pending the disposition of the charges.”

From the article above . .

" . . injuring driver Freddy Carroll, 41 . . " As in $41 million, I'd say.

"His employer, Student Transportation of America, said it checked his driving record - but the screening had not revealed the 1999 accident."

Any PA residents care to chime in? How long does it take for stuff to fall off your record? I think Maine is 7 years but I also think there are things like OUI that never fall off.
