Maybe the kid is a ho but imagine a few changes to this scenario . . the moment she climbs into your truck, Mom's on the phone to the cops knowing full well a teenage girl in a big rig is going to get a quick and heavy handed response. The next knock you hear is the OKC SWAT team. Suddenly, you're looking at a few changes to your future. Statutory rape will get you plenty of jail time and a lifetime as a registered sex offender. You're fired, immediately, of course. Mom and Dad are going to pursue you and your employer in civil court. Or, you own the truck and it's going to be seized and you'll probably never see it again but you will be allowed to keep the payments and still get sued for anything else you might have.

I'd say this guy made the right call.

His wife and his employer seem to think these are acceptable consequences, under the circumstances.
