Default VA tells the US to F off

Fredericksburg.com - Panel passes in-state commerce legislation

Quote:
"This is basically another 'get Washington off our backs' bill," Cole, R-Spotsylvania, told the House Commerce and Labor committee. "It goes back to the original intent of the 10th Amendment and the Constitution, that Congress would regulate interstate commerce, but it would be up to the states to regulate commerce with-in their borders. I know this is a statement bill, but I think it's a statement that is timely and needs to be made."

Cole said he expects that his bill would draw legal challenges from the federal government.
As the one comment said, this is a modern day Civil War just without bullets. Your going to see more and more states crafting legislation against the US Govt. VA is working on a bill that essentially reads that the state will not honor the Healthcare bill Congress is attempting to pass in requiring all Americans to get health insurance or go to jail/fine. It passed out of the Senate Committee last week with a few Democrat supporters.

Quote:
Individual health insurance coverage; requirement to obtain. Provides that a resident of the Commonwealth shall not be required to obtain or maintain a policy of individual insurance coverage. This applies regardless of whether the person has or is eligible for health insurance coverage under any policy or program provided by or through his employer or a plan sponsored by the Commonwealth or the federal government. The measure also states that no provision of Title 38.2 renders a resident liable for any penalty, assessment, fee, or fine as a result of his failure to procure or obtain health insurance coverage.

VA was one of the first states to accept money from the federal government. This is nothing more than Republicans trying to ,,stick it to the big guys'' for the show, while dealing behind the closed doors.

Who told you that you will go to jail if you don't accept health care reform?

Actually, it was Obama who made the statement. He said that the government will fine us if we don't get their insurance. If we don't pay the fine THEN we go to jail.

We seem to forget that the real power in this country was supposed to be with the individual states. It was after the Civil War that states began to give their power to the federal government. It is good to see at least some states begin to exercise their states rights.

Yes, Obama and Pelosi both publicly have stated numerous times that you will get fined up to $25K for not having health insurance under their new bill they want to pass and if you do not pay it you will see jail time. What they do not tell you is that on page 118 of the 2000 and some pages, you have to purchase a plan but it then have to wait for the govt. 18 months after you purchase it to tell you if it's the correct plan. If they deem it unworthy then you get punished and fined for it.

The Pelosi plan,
Quote:
Misdemeanor willful failure to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment for up to one year. For those really hardcore healthcare criminals, the punishment is a fine up to $250,000 and/or five years in jail.
How about this video where she dances around the answer on jail time: race42008.com Blog Archive Pelosi On Health Care Jail Time Provision: “Is Very Fair In This Respect” Granted that's a Republican site it does show her not denying the jail time provision but instead saying to the effect that it's a fair deal.

Actually Denjah, the new VA govenor does not want anymore federal bailout money. He of course is a Republican but he has idea's on where budgets can be cut that Kaine said they couldn't be. He has realized how much of a mistake it was to take the govt. money with how much we are having to pay back in interest on it. At the end of the day it was totally stupid to take it, we'll be paying them back for the next 50-60 years.

Seems like the healthcare-pushers are also in bed with the prison-corporations, the ones that build them anyway.

Get your tinfoil hat off, PLEASE !!!

Only fine you will ever have to pay is if you try and game the system by not being insured and trying to access care while giving the bill to the government to pay.

You have a right to keep your existing insurance if you like and if you dont, then sign up for public option. Nobody is forcing you to do anything just dont come back crying to the government after you get sick, thats when the fine comes in and i fully support it, just like i would support a fine on people who are on welfare yet are able to work.

If you actualy looked closer at this bill you may like it. Dont bash it just because it is a democrat idea, same thing that all republicans are doing.

So should I immediately call all of those who are against it, as being in the bed with insurance companies as they are the ones who created them?
