Waiting for the landfill to open, they're on central time, and i come from eastern time, so i typically get there by 2 am, and they don't open till 6 am. After paperwork and all is wrapped up, i set my little bed up, and usually knock back off by 3 am, life of a trash hauler

Ummm - again - I don't get paid by the hour - I get paid a percentage of what the load pays. So, whether the load pays the truck $10,000 or $500, I get paid the same percentage, whether it takes 1 hour to do the load or 5 days.

Why dont you just sleep in and get there when the dump is open and not so early. Let me guess cuz there is a 10mile long line of trucks ahead of you.

Sorry, I can't keep track of everyone. You're an owner?

I think it's very important to make the distinction between "Employee Owners" and "Employee Drivers". As an employee driver, I don't get to choose if and when the wheels turn. Using your example, you get to decide if it's .73/mile or .53 or .83. Mine is .37 (subject to some variables) and the only way my pay can go is down and 99 times out of 100, it goes down due to the inefficiencies and ineptitude of others. My point is simple: If I were being paid fairly for all of my time, that would create a strong financial incentive to eliminate I+I and there would therefor be a lot less I+I.
I have my own authority but right now I am leased to company and use theirs, luckily we have dedicated shippers and customers, and run the same loads regularly, so we always know how much we are going to make

Wow. Now if you can back that up with at least 2 solid factual reasons, you might sound intelligent.

1. He gets business advice from Steve Booth
2. He plays with dog poop.

Those two things together equal guaranteed failure.
