I bought some eggnog last week. Mayfield's is popular around this part of the country. My mother used to make homemade eggnog when I was growing up. It was soooo good. It was much better than anything that I have tasted off the shelf. She never used alcohol in it, either. I think some people put alcohol in it due to the raw eggs. Someone told me once that it cooked the eggs. I think the person who told me this just wanted an excuse to put in alcohol.

I'm sorry, Bel. Has there been a misunderstanding? I thought we had an agreement in principle that was good until late Monday night. Furthermore, I thought you said there was "no problem" IF, and I say IF, I needed an extension.

Is there some reason that I am seeing an enhanced version of the siglines in question now?

Mayfield is good... I've had it. As to the alcohol "cooking" the raw eggs... Years ago, when people made their own, the bacteria was present as well. Along with the excuse to drink alcohol, it was thought that it would kill the bacteria that caused the trips to the bathroom/outhouse. But in actual practice, booze does little to nothing to sterilize anything. It's a movie prop.

Actually, if the LEO comes around to check on compliance of the "no-idle laws", and finds you drinking beer with the engine running, you can get a DUI. Just having the key on your person while drinking beer in the truck can get you a DUI. I know a couple of people that had that happen to them in their 4-wheelers, and if they cops can do that to them, want to bet what they can do to you? You need to shut off the engine, put the key in one of the cubby-holes, and THEN enjoy MILLER-TIME.

We have a brand around here - Gandy's - it's really good. My step-sister's husband makes his homemade but they put a lot of alcohol in it...I prefer it without alcohol, too. I have always liked eggnog. My son (Ben) loves it, too but the girls would rather get a whipping than drink it! Every year, I try to trick them into drinking same...usually, I end up wearing it. I read somewhere that eggnog was like liquid cheeseburger...R-E-A-L-L-Y bad for you!!!
