Sirius/XM
#21
I bought a new receiver just a few days ago and for the first two days all it would do was scroll through the menus. On day 3, I was in sight of the TA I was bound to return it to (bought at a different one) and poof . . the receiver came to life and it's been smoothe sailing, since. I have Sirius and don't see anything new. I keep hearing that XM now has Margaritaville . . welcome, Parrotheads!
When I called to activate it there was never a mention of the usual $15 fee. On belpre's advice, I just checked my debit card and there was no charge. That is good and thanks for the heads up. I have been on 89.1 for 3 + days, all over the east/southeast and have had zero interference. If any of you are having trouble with channel bleeds, especially while driving, try 89.1. Anyone have an opinion about the $40-50-60+ upright antennas . . do they help with bridge, tall tree or mountainside cutouts?

They help tremendous, only time mine cuts out is going through decently long tunnels(short ones it doesn't) sometimes I go weeks without it cutting out, even along 17 in ontario where you're deep into the rock cuts with them on both sides of you. Bridges, fuel islands, etc... no problem
I also suggest running the sound into aux in (with RCA's) as opposed to the FM modulator. There are some "direct" kits that still use the FM modulator, that is not what I'm talking about. Much better sound, and no interference. |
