Hey Bloo, I don't know if you know it or not but I am kinda a liberal. I tried my darnedest to discredit the facts quoted in the article and was unable. Loads of speculation and opinion, sure, facts....so far yes.

Obama ain't a big fan of guns. But I doubt we will see much change in gun laws even with a democrat majority in both houses. Too many fans of the 2nd in the good ole USA. Sure you won't be able to have a 400 round fully auto hunting rifle and you might have to get a background check at a gun show but too many senators want to get reelected to do too much.

marylandkw, sorry, maybe I wasn't as clear as I could be. This is starting to sound like a KKK rally here.

This thread started out with people stating what they were afraid Obama was going to do if/when elected. But the fear level was so intense it was da*m strange.

Then they started talking about arming themselves and stock piling food and civil war.

Then that comment by BlooMoose nailed it and let me know this isn't about politics, this is about race. And "civil war" isn't the right term, "race war" is what they mean.

I'll say one thing about Osama. He's a smooth talker. Sad thing is, many people are taken in by his hogwash. Kinda like, "spreading the wealth". How in the world did he come up with that? He wants to take our money, and give it to those that dont do squat, and you know that he knows that folks are gonna be voting for him, and at the same time, he's gonna milk their money. Hence his term, "spreading the wealth". I got an idea for that. Get them lazy woodpeckers off their butts, and get a job. Besides, I still think he's in cahoots with Bin Laden.
Osama also blows smoke about so many job losses, and the high unemployment rates. Funny, every time I go to a convenient store, they have a sign posted that says, "help wanted". Same way with restaurants. They are always hiring. I know that those arent the best jobs in the world, but by George, they are there for those who need jobs. Newspapers are plumb full of employers, looking for help. I dont know where Osama is getting his information, but I dont see how the unemployment rate could be so high when you see "help wanted" everywhere ya go. I guess, that's why he's trying to get in the White House, and I'm in a truck.

This year's election race has to be the most entertaining.

That's what is hilarious about all the Obama Kool-Aid drinkers. They think and claim that anyone that doesn't vote for their messiah is a racist. I'm sure it's been educational for you. It should be educating you on just what people think of a socialist like Obama being the president of this country. But instead of seeing it from the eyes of the other side and attempting to understand their concerns, you'd rather claim it's all about race. "La, la, la! I can't hear your! La, la la! You're a racist! La la la!"

I don't give a damn if they guy is white, black, brown, or purple - he's a socialist, his views are socialist, and he bleeds socialism. And there's not a damn thing you can do or say to prove to me otherwise. I don't listen to the talking heads...I actually pay attention to what your messiah says and I use my own brain to think about what he stands for and to read between the lines.

Regarding race, I would love to vote for a black candidate. I can think of two right off the top of my head that would get my vote immediately over anything we have available right now. Colin Powell and Condileeza Rice. Hell, let's go all the way and put together a Powell/Rice ticket. I'd be all over that, even though Powell supported Obama!

But Obama himself? In charge of this country? In charge of the direction of the Supreme Court? Expected to protect the Constitution? Give me a break. :roll:

Yeah, there will be a civil war in this country. But it won't be about race. It'll be about ideaology. If you favor giving up your money and all of your freedoms, then you'll be on one side. The other side will be heavily populated by people that will not give up the freedoms this country guarantees them. You may not see it. But many of us do. Since the final comradarie and togetherness this country enjoyed following 9/11, America has become seperated by an ever-widening chasm of ideals and beliefs, one that has but one final outcome. Civil War. Obama may or may not be the final catalyst for that, but my personal belief is that the wedge he will drive in the populace will be the wedge that causes the final permanent split.

Bottom line is, I won't vote for a socialist and neither will the majority of Americans. However, all Obama needs to do is get the electorates and he's in good position to do that. If and when he wins and if he gets a filibuster proof congress, you'll find out in short order what Obama is all about. By then, it'll be far too late.

I know you are..but I still like you anyway! I didn't believe everything in that letter myself, but I didn't want to just take exerpts from it and try to use them out of context or to "prove" anything - I don't think that's right. Besides that, I was just in a really pissy mood (can I claim woman's perogative here?) and it just hurt my feelers, I guess.

I don't have a problem with liberals...I actually come from very long line of southern democrats...some that actually rub elbows with Billary. But, I formed my opinions by trying to read up on things on my own and making my own decisions. It's people (and I don't mean "colin" or anyone else in particular on here) that don't THINK for themselves or have any REAL reason for supporting someone that bother me so much. I have a lot of opinions that I don't get into on here but, for the record, I think you have been a sweetheart - to me, at least.

Colin, If you would accept it, I apologize for getting so fired up. Yesterday was a bad day and I have no excuse for taking it out on you.
