O dear lord! I went to a 5 day class to learn to use one, now all you need is a credit card? I fear many people will not fully understand the legal ramifications of using this device. People do die from these things. Edited to add RESTRICTIONS: DC, MA, RI, NY, NJ, WI, MI, HI & certain cities & counties. Make sure you ain't there when you use it.

When I was a LEO we had to be certified to use one. Part of that cert. was to be shot with it. Same thing with OC ( pepper spray ). Hell I have been sprayed so many times I lost count. If you ever wondered why sometimes cops seem to to always be pissed-off it is because of the training involved.

Unless your attacked, defending yourself and in a state that allows tasers you're going to jail and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and your truck gets towed.
I watched a guy at Jubitz go off on another guy and hit him at the fuel pump. The guy that got hit did not look like someone who could go down easily. He got back in his truck and I assume made a phone call. 5 minutes later he was arrested. 15 minutes later his truck was towed. I was asked what happened and told what I saw. I asked about the truck. He said it was going to the impound yard. I asked what would happen now. He said the guy who got hit will probably not want to show up so the other guy will be charged with disorderly conduct, fined, pay the tow charge and pay the impound fee. The guy who got hit obviously got the last laugh. The other guy's been watching "Every Which Way But Loose" too many times.

It just pisses me off to no end when these truck stops think about their profit margin above their customers. Unlike the whole "slim jim" argument, I doubt anyone is going to be able to claim a legitimate use for a taser....

The slim jim debate was something we didn't see eye to eye on, but this one is a no-brainer. I'm all for tazer guns, but selling the OTC is a bit stupid. They should be registered as weapons, IMO, and not sold at a truckstop.
