I can't stress the windows update enough. I've been in the computer field for more than 30 years until recently. Do the updates!!! There is nothing wrong with Microsoft Internet Explorer.

If you have a problem already then your probably screwed no matter what you do.

You need a real antivirus program like Trend Micros Anitvirus or Norton. Something that you actually pay for and not through your internet service provider.

Most times you can't fix what's already been infected from the start so what you need to do is the following.

1. Do a virgin install of windows.
2. Install the antivirus software
3. Do ALL the windows updates until there are none. Should take a full day at broadband speed.

Not Steve: I did a complete reinstall of Windows XP. Which formatted my hard drive. Did all the updates for XP, and keep the updates on notification. Also did all the updates for IE, to version 7.
I have downloaded and currently using Firefox. Seems OK with Firefox. The issue seems to be in IE. Side note, the problem existed before and after the updates for IE.
Currently using a program called Defender Pro for virus, spyware/adware and firewall.
Was using an online program prior to virus issue called avast. Which was working quite well till the spyware/adware virus infected my computer.

Most of those ad and anti spy software programs are the ones infecting your computer.

Do like I said above and buy Trend Micros AntiVirus. Do not install any other junk ad or spy program.

I've never had a virus.

Watch out for your existing email and saved programs. They may be infected already and putting them back on after the reinstall will infect your computer again.

If I would have known this along time ago I could have avoided all this time. I been calling my e-machine computer a piece of junk and it was a piece of junk cause I thought I was updating everything and come to find out I wasn't! Man life wouldn't be the same without you computer geeks! Who am I kidding, I'm a computer geek as well but I try to hide it. :P
