If it had been cracker crumbs or bread he was tossing from his truck would you have called his company to report it?
If it had been trash (wrappers, cans, boxes, etc) yeah I could see it, but food. Nope, not unless he is throwing large quantities of it on the ground as if he was emptying his cooler or tossing out product that his last consignee had refused. More than likely whenever someone calls in to a company with a complaint like this the person answering the phone and taking the message is thinking that someone needs to get a life.

I might even pay his hospital bill when I was through with him! Now, Skier, I ain't got nothing against you, heck.... I was looking forward to some good talks with you about the mountains and such. But, you just made one ASSININE statement! Well it takes a man to admit to his mistake. Yes i was to hard with my comment. I just don't like seeing anyone throw stuff out the window and liiter our planet. I'm not a tree hugger by anyway shape or form. But when someone can't find a garbage can to get rid of something, that just isn't right. We are all repersentives of the trucking industy, be it co, o/o. l/o which is already suffering from a poor public image. Litterbugs rank just above tattletales!

I wouldn't have called on him unless the box came out the window also. If he wants to feed the wildlife, fine by me as long as he doesn't leave litter behind and food isn't considered litter where I come from. It is considered a missile if thrown from a moving vehicle and it strikes another vehicle. That will net you some jail time around here.

Okay, now that this has been up for 24 hours, and I got responses on both sides, I am going to ask this of those who said it was "no big deal".
What if he threw a hamburger out his window? What about half a lasagna? At what point is it considered "littering", or "a big deal"? Would you have a problem with it if he did this on the front steps of your house?

Rev, if it was on my front porch or the steps to my truck, then that's a tad bit different. If it's on my lawn, I could careless because the animals will have it in an hour and it will be gone. Doesn't matter what it is if it's food because again, I don't consider food to be trash.

I curse the ground your truck sits on that you be tormented by having drivers throw food out of their trucks anywhere you go! |
