You see, most people who support Barack Obama have no sense of basic economics. Most of them have no idea what Obama himself wants to do, all they know is that he wants "change". The fact is simply that Obama is just another typical Washington politician.

Double L, you are young and ignorant to most of the issues concerning this country's well being. But I will agree with you that Pres. Bush has done much to damage this country. Saying that, you can't pin all of his decisions squarely on repubicans. He has had a democrat majority to deal with since 2006 and he has had all of his major initiatives passed. Demorats have a part in this too.

Just remember, liberalism is a mental disorder. Liberals are more interested in fairness and equality than prosperity (economically speaking). Obama economic policies spell disaster. Trust me, there is nothing he will do to create American jobs. It's all lip service and you have to see through the bs. Rasing taxes on the evil rich people (class envy) will do nothing to create economic growth. In fact, everytime the capital gains tax has been lowered, it has created more revenue! Bush's tax cuts broadened the tax base and we saw more revenue flowing into the federal treasury than ever before. Unfortunately, Bush decided to abandon a basic principle of conservatism and did not do a thing to curb discretionary spending or make any tough decisions to cut any entitlements. In fact, we have seen government grow by 70% since he took office.

So, what you need to do is bother to inform yourself and don't believe everything you read. The liberals in the media want to control your thinking. Don't drink the kool aid.

If you really think about it the President really isn't the "leader" of the country more like a spokesperson and just makes the laws official. The House of Representatives and Congress are in charge of creating laws and if the President happens to vetoe it then congress and the house can make it law with a majority vote. Just something to think about!

I lived through Clinton...I was not very impressed. Spent my time in the AirForce, during the entire Reagen administration. There were issues there but every President will have them. Reagen was one of the best Presidents the country has seen.
Double L....DO NOT judge the candidates from the Bush Presidency. Bush is not on the ticket. Look at the issues from the two candidates.

The President is more that a figurehead/spokespersons. Our government is based on the Legislative branch (House and Congress) and Executive branch (President). The three together complete the "checks and balance" our government is supposed to have. But seems to be lacking at this time.
Obama does not have the experience or any substance that he can bring to the Presidential office. He panders to the press and changes his "change" message as he seems to see it to fit the situation he is in. He is basically "clueless". He started out in the Primarys as an extreme Left wing liberal. Since succeeding in the Primary he has moved closer to the center, because he knows he wouldnt be electable if he remained an extreme far left lib.
You see him as succeeding to the Presidential position. I do not. I believe that right after the Conventions. When the race really gets hot. Obama is going to fall flat on his face, and the American people will see exactly what he stands for....a Senator that has no substance.

Personally who I really wanted to see run for President is Rudy Guliani and Mike Huckabee. I have been doing some thinking though and really looking into Obama and noticed he has been playing the race card bullsh*t. I really am starting to lean towards McCain after looking into their views and what not. After thinking about it I didn't even get the chance to form an opinion on McCain cause of all this talk about Obama on the news and thats it. I did read about McCain supporting the ban lift on offshore drilling and alternate energy. I think that is why the country is stuck on Obama cause that is all they hear on the news and read in the paper and see online. So yeah you heard it from me I'm voting for McCain!!!!!! Especially with Obama flip flopping on the issues is really making me question his compentance.

Obama can give good motivational speeches, and he's compared to a Rock Star. Yet...he looks like a dork in a suit...not cool like Elwood...and I bet he can't play an instrument or even sing for crap. So...I just don't get it?? Why has he become so popular? He has no substance...nothing to offer but empty words, and I seriously doubt he would or could keep any promises, nor have the nads to run this Country. Anyway..all he has promised so far is Change. That's it...just the word Change. If you read between his line of crap...he is really the most Socialist Leftist yet to manipulate into position. (BTW...I'm not a Republican)
He gives a good speech...that's about it. So...if we choose a President on that criteria...then why not Elwood Blues?

Elwood Blues:
[addressing the rest if the band]
You may go if you wish. But remember this: walk away now and you walk away from your crafts, your skills, your vocations; leaving the next generation with nothing but recycled, digitally-sampled techno-grooves, quasi-synth rhythms, pseudo-songs of violence-laden gangsta-rap, acid pop, and simpering, saccharine, soulless slush. Depart now and you forever separate yourselves from the vital American legacies of Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Jimmy Reed, Memphis Slim, Blind Boy Fuller, Louie Jordon, Little Walter, Big Walter, Sonnyboy Williamson I and II, Otis Redding, Jackie Wilson, Elvis Presley, Lieber and Stoller, and Robert K. Weiss.

Donald "Duck" Dunn:
Who is Robert K. Weiss?
[the rest of the band shrug]

Elwood Blues:
Turn your backs now and you snuff out the fragile candles of Blues, R&B and Soul, and when those flames flicker and expire, the light of the world is extinguished because the music which has moved mankind through seven decades leading to the millennium will whither and die on the vine of abandonment and neglect.
[he walks off, followed by Buster, Mack and then the rest of the band]

I should get my voter registration card in the mail anytime now. But yeah leaning left just ain't right! Seriously though I've made this decision a few weeks ago after reviewing the facts and seeing that Obama is clearly incompentent.

So.... by his OWN admission.... McCain should be an Obama supporter?

Yeah, like McCain looks spectacular in his OFF THE RACK "Reagan-era" polyester suits..... and is raking in the royalties from "Bomb Bomb Iran!"

Our government is based on the Legislative branch (House and Congress) and Executive branch (President). The three together complete the "checks and balance" our government is supposed to have. But seems to be lacking at this time.
Hard to have checks and balances when the Executive asserts and expands the limits of his "privileges" even to the extent of criminal attempt at evasion of prosecution.

Just remember, liberalism is a mental disorder. Liberals are more interested in fairness and equality than prosperity (economically speaking).
There ya go..... calling JESUS a "nut-case" again! IIRC, he specifically taught that his Father would INCREASE the prosperity of those who demonstrated fairness and equality.

The best way to help our ailing health care system is to encourage competition amongst the health care providers. This is called "capitalism". If Private organizations are encouraged to compete, prices are lowered and economy goes up.
Right, like the way the Doctors have to lower their prices to compete for an everincreasing and aging population? The way the pharmaceutical companies lower prices on medecine because they can't find a way to make theirs sound better? And the way the Oil companies have been in a gas war for the last few decades... lowering prices because there's SO much cheap gas on the market??

Obama economic policies spell disaster.
Yeah, JUST when the mortage banking industry was doing SO WELL! And everyone HAD a job.... and could afford healthcare! And everyone in the World LOVED us so much. And energy and food costs were WELL within the fixed incomes of the elderly... and the operational budgets of truckers, airlines, and even the MILITARY. Wouldn't want to ruin this PARADISE we are living in!

Both candidates for President are highly unqualified for the position. The fact that the major political parties have put these two men forward as the choices shows how far down we, as a nation, have sunk. Neither candidate deserves the position.

I am refusing to even hold my nose and vote for one of them. I am voting for the most qualified person who I feel deserves the title of POTUS. I know my choice will not ultimately win the election, but that doesn't matter, nor should it matter. Golfhobo's post shows exactly what is wrong with politics today - it has become a game of "yeah, my guy isn't qualified, but let's look at how bad the guy on your side is!" The fact that the truly qualified candidate cannot be elected because he doesn't have the backing of the major political party is truly saddening. The fact that someone like Obama can come in with no real party platform or agenda, and run (and possibly win) an election with only a slogan as his platform is pathetic.

The founding fathers are turning in their graves.

As a side note, I'm glad one of these "20 questions" threads is finally showing some substance.
