You beat me to it Slimchance good job.

If anybody won the Vietnam war it was the American press and all public at home who did not realize what it really was all about. Before you go on some long winded diatribe about military industrial complex remember Kennedy and Johnson were the ones that got us started on the buildup there in the first place. There were alot of Americans which understood what was at stake during the Cold War as are alot of young Americans who are serving our military today.

Mr. Hobo has heard alot of things and I am sure he has his little websites where he accumulates his vast knowledge which is superior to all of ours.

I swore an oath to uphold and defend the constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC and I take it serious to this day. Sixth generation so far in my family. So you better believe I was raised to watch all of our politicians and to this day I believe States right should supersede the Federal government unless otherwise specified.

golfhobo we can agree to disagree and a good debate is one of the strengths of the country but I will tell you from personal experience get out of the country and see what some other places are like, become proficient in another language it will make you love this country more regardles of who is running it. Personally I am sick of both parties blaming the other when they are BOTH guilty.

Unfortunately I do not know your personal circumstance and where you live which have made you so bitter about our country and economy or maybe you just enjoy provoking others

As if right on cue!!

Please go back and read my response to Slim Chance, and you'll see how ridiculous this sounds!

News Flash!! The V.C. won that war! And just HOW did that affect us during the Cold War?? Do we not, today, have somewhat normalized relations with Vietnam?? [not to mention Communist China] So..... hmm..... tell me again just WHY those 58,000 Americans had to die??

Mr. Hobo has heard alot of things and I am sure he has his little websites where he accumulates his vast knowledge which is superior to all of ours.
This is funny! Oh... and you don't have to call me MR. That would be my father!

I swore an oath to uphold and defend the constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC and I take it serious to this day...... and to this day I believe States right should supersede the Federal government unless otherwise specified.
So did I.... and so DO I!! Your point?

golfhobo we can agree to disagree and a good debate is one of the strengths of the country but I will tell you from personal experience get out of the country and see what some other places are like, become proficient in another language it will make you love this country more regardles of who is running it.
Well... I may not be as well traveled as YOU, but I did spend a year and a half in Greece, travelled some in Spain and Germany. Spent some time in Puerto Rico and Mexico....... et, je parle Francais! It would be hard to love this country any more than I do. I don't care WHO runs it.... I care HOW they run it!

Unfortunately I do not know your personal circumstance and where you live which have made you so bitter about our country and economy or maybe you just enjoy provoking others
I am not bitter. Angry maybe. For the cause of that, you only have to look at who lives in the Big House.... and what he has DONE to our country, its workforce, the economy, our RIGHTS, and our reputation around the World!

I don't "provoke" others. I respond to their propaganda! I doubt my knowledge is superior to that of many on this board. Perhaps, my INSIGHT might be a bit clearer than some. I don't really have a problem with people expressing an OPINION opposite to mine. What I can't stand, is when someone expresses an "opinion" that is more of an accusation, and that is word for word right out of the mouth of some political HACK!

In other words, if one can't THINK for themselves, and they just repeat the same political mantra they've been programmed to repeat (notice I didn't even assume they BELIEVE it) it pegs out my B.S. meter!

You bring up an interesting point.... that travelling broadens one's perspective. It certainly does. And, although I agree that travels abroad are of great benefit, I would suggest that one learns much MORE by living in many different demographic regions of THIS country! Rat was speaking the other day about his little "enclave" up in North Dakota. Not sure, but it sounds like he's lived there all his life. So, what kind of influences do you think he has had in his life? What dominant opinions have shaped his own? How much variety of opinion or experiences has he been subjected to?

I have lived in Red states and Blue states, urban and rural areas. I have lived in the Northwest, the Midwest, the Southeast, Texas and Cali!! I paid attention while I was at it, and my perspectives and insights have been honed as a result. So SUE me!!

Now, you know more about me than you ever wanted to! So, if you want to debate... I'll debate. You want to flame? I'll flame. If you want to despise me for being smart.... you're on your own! (Well.... you'll probably have an army here to back you... but, I mean I won't despise you back!)

Have a nice day, driver!

Oops!! I forgot Colorado!! How could I forget my time in God's Country?? Man.... I've been here in the south for FAR too long!

Sticking with the theme of this thread "...Do I have this Straight?" let me see if I do.

The starter of this thread posted a question followed with what many would call internet rumors. More then likely this was done to pique others interest (it obviously worked). Posting just a quick little thread that said why he was unsure of Obama probably would not have generated so many responses. At first some chimed in with agreement or more questions about some more "internet rumors" and some with disagreement.

Next, golfhobo goes into a long post about how terrible the current administration. I am not sure how this fits in but somehow George Bush's failures make Obama a better man I guess. The post goes to sides as if Obama is running against the current administration (which he is not) so I guess the "insinuation" that is trying to be made here is that all Repulicans will do the same even though it is pointed out in this post that "70% of your OWN party disagrees with Bush's policies, and wants CHANGE! So.... you are in a minority of Republicans!" (click on the quote it will take you to that post.)

The debate/argument goes on with the current administration being the larger makeup of the posts. I decided to entertain the debate by giving my "opinion" of Obama using the resources that the Obama supporters linked to. I made a comment about something that golfhobo said about being out of context. No matter how you say you were misunderstood, you were not. You said

That means you are saying that the evacuation was proof of being pushed out, I called you on it because the U.S. combat troops had been removed long before that by the U.S.'s own accord, not being pushed out and ran up to the tops of buildings like your statement suggests. Had the troops stayed no one can say how it would have turned out.

After that some one with no basis to his statement post some crap about racism when no one said anything about not liking him because of color but because of stance on issues and possible negative statements about Obama's religious background. Golfhobo then goes on to call of this crap and has no interest to dispute my observations from a credible source or to offer explanation how my concerns are unjust and offer explanation. Then you go on to talk about red states and blue states which I see no way shows how Obama is a logical bid for the White House.

So if I have this straight this thread is not about if Obama but rather about a way to bash the current administration. Whenever the debate starts moving back to getting answers on where Obama stands someone comes in and screams crap or look at how bad George Bush (AKA the republican party) is. Those who seem to be all for Obama have yet to offer one reason why he is a good candidate. If I have it right this is a normal political debate, LOL.

Well..... no not really. For one thing.... you left out the religious discussion!

As for the rest of it. Just not sure I feel like answering! Last time I answered that question, I ended up having to eat alot of CRAP!!

And, I don't have enough bread to make it taste like pate'!!

Besides, you seem to think you "understand" what I MEANT better than "I" do, so I'm sure it will be easier for you to just READ MY MIND!

Trying to keep this thread on track here.

One good thing about Obama is that there are no missing persons or mysterious deaths associated with him.

John Glasgow (CFO of the company that built Clinton library is still missing) amazes me that our press ignores this. Since he was a person off interest into the inquiry about the funding.

Guess he went to visit Ron Brown, Vince Foster, and James Mcdougal

Golfhobo will interject his disdain for the current administration into any topic that will ever exist.....
Naw..... not the ones about LOGGING! But..... don't YOU interject your "get a job at Denny's" comments into ANY topic where a driver admits to making any kind of mistake?

Golfhobo will also pander to anyone who reads his long winded diatribes with a Al Franken style....
I learned to pander from listening to Patriot Radio on Sirrius! Those guys are PROS!!

It also appears that Golfhobo has never gotten over the 2000 election when GWB BEAT Al " I invented the Internet " Bore, even though after all the Court action initiated by Al " I am making millions off Global Warming " Bore. GWB still won on the tallies......
With the help of 17,000 Palm Beach County votes for Buchanan/Bush!! Seriously tho, my problem is that "I" saw what Dubya was up to LONG before he stole.... I mean..... WON the Selection! Had more of you listened to me then, nearly 5,000 brave American soldiers would have spent this past Independence Day with their families!

[If you don't believe me.... I'll get you a link to another forum I was on at the time, and you can pander to my long winded diatribes about Dubya BEFORE he "Accomplished his Mission!" ]

I wonder what Golfhobo will do when Sen. McCain beats the Great Black Hope come Nov. 3rd ????
Probably get drunk and take up PRAYING!! Along with about 2/3rds of the Conservatives in America!
