Their BIG crime is that they arranged the deal by communicating on the 10 meter band!!

It's called tax evasion.
The state, and the federal goverment does not take kindly to that sort of thing.

I do not believe he just paid and got his truck out of impound, it was used in the commission of a felony therefore it is evidence in that case until setteled in court. It would take a court order from the judge to release the truck. This case could very well be a federal case since several interstate trade laws were broken, stolen fuel, no licence to sell nor dispense fuel, non payment of city, county, state, and federal taxes, fuel used for the intra, and interstate transport of goods, and on and on. They could prosecute all three involved as far as they deem necessary. They were'nt mad at their employer this is just plain greed, that almighty dollar, and the fact that they believed that they were smarter than everyone else, plain and simple. "stupid is as stupid does!".

 

I think RR is obsessed with more than just 10 meter! I thing he is obsessed period. Just glad he does not live around our area! The Sattler repeater would be locked down because of his technical correctness. Also do not think I could handle some of our club meetings if he was a member.

Rockatansky, you mean there are legit Pawn Shops out there that won't make you buy back your own property that was stolen from you? :shock: Get out and about a little more, many a pawn shop does that until the police are called. Suddenly they look like the nice guy and say that you simply misunderstood them and that they will kindly give it back to you.

I understand the companies side of it but tax evasion and the govt not getting their money..........they are raping us at the pumps, so why not rape them back by not getting any taxes? They refuse to do anything about the fuel prices, "Oh we are going to go after those price gouging." Well they are all gouging and nothing is being done because the govt. says none in particular are jacking the prices up skyhigh??

 

Ok, here we go again! The Government, at least our Government has no control over the price at the pumps! If they did, you would be crying that Big Brother is controlling everything! OH my, Big Brother has me bent over a barrel!

Fortunately, or in the case of Trucking unfortunately, our Country is based on the Free Market Principles! Thus, those with money, and the ability to control it, gouge those of us that do not! The market of big oil is controlled by speculators and investors. The speculators are there to make sure the investors make money!

This man controls more of the American Economy than you think! He speaks in front of Congressional Committees weekly! If he says the price of oil per barrel is going to be X number of dollars next week - you had better bet it will happen. Just pay attention to the Stock Markets before and after his meetings with Congress are published!


Another problem with the price of fuel, is the Chinese! They are hungry for oil, the have figured out, to break the United States, just push the price of oil into oblivion and the United States will falter and at anytime, they will be moving onto our soil. The Chinese need more land to control, and at this time in history, the United States is a prime target!

Was invading Irag and ousting Saddam Hussein a bad idea, well, yes and no! The price of oil and fuel was already on the rise before the invasion of Iraq. Again, look at the growing demand for oil by China, and the economic failure of Russia - another major oil producer for that part of the world.

Anyway, to the point! You are screaming the Government needs to do something! Well, if the government were to do something now, 10 years ago, or even 10 years from now, the current generation of Americans would be whining and crying the Big Brother was taking over their lives. Our country was built on the Free Market Principles, and that is what we have! If you want government to tell you when to wipe your behind, move to China!

This country is failing, and failing in a big way, and it is not the fault of our Government. It is failing because of ignorance (did not know), apathy (did not care) and greed (the American way)!

You want to help the American Trucker survive? Do ya? Probably not, you just want to sit and babble and not really understand what is going on! If you want to help the American Trucker, every darn one of ya needs to join OOIDA, and get ten of your friends to join, and on down the line, until every darn O/O and Company Driver on the road today is a member.

Then, and only then, will Corporate America and Government will pay attention to the needs of the American Trucker.

Also, to finish! Elections are coming up this November! Have you, are you registered to vote! Every seat in the legislature is up for grabs, and I forget how many in the Senate. Vote to get the old dead weight out of there, and totally new faces in, this will also help get the attention of Government. Who is the best Presidential Candidate, hmm, none of them really. Maybe we need someone like Sheriff Joe up there! But if the American Truck Driver does not vote, nobody in Washington will ever pay attention our problems and needs.
