Man, I don't even remember what MUD stands for anymore. Multi-user Dungeon something or other. I played some of those text ones years ago. Played NWN on AOL when that first released...again, years ago. Been into WoW now since day one. Looking forward to Wrath of the Lich King release this year.

EQ blows. :P

Sorry, just had to get that out. I've played both of those, Anarchy online, Asheron's Call I and II, couple others. I keep my online playing to 1 game only and have seen nothing to give WoW a run for it's money. EQ never came close.

As far as connecting, you should be able to do it with any air-card. If your connection isn't the fastest, you could still play well enough if you lowered your graphics settings. I started playing WoW on a 56K dial-up when it first came out and had no issues except when running around Ironforge killing Alliance.

Alliance on Gilneas. 70 'lock, 70 hunter, and working on my priest and warrior (holy and prot).

Maybe if there were enough of us, we could guild up on some server. Probably not going on a kara raid, but it could be fun. OTOH, I'd be connecting OTR to hang with my current buddies. If I want to talk to you smelly truckers, I'll come to CAD or go into the trucker's lounge

I can't wait for WOTLK either, but I'd like to get my warrior and priest up to 70 first.

TF, thanks for the info, thats exactly what I was looking for. And you were correct on what MUD stands for. Now don't ask me what a MOO is, as that is forgotten.

I have played WoW (I'm not into it as much as usual now- on a reading kick!) with my Sprint card on my laptop. Most everywhere I get a good enough signal and a medium ping. In big cities, it's no problem, but in places like Avalon, TX (where I am now, waiting to unload this tanker) I can play well enough- but I occasionally get enough lag to hurt myself in instances.

Yeah, you can do it.

I play Horde only. I have a 60 Alliance mage on Silverhand that I never play...I left for the dark side after getting smart.

On the Horde side (Muradin server), I have a 70 Rogue (who I love taking through Stormwind and Ironforge on flagged killing sprees) and a 70 Shaman, a 39 fully twinked BG warrior and a BG Lock I am twinking to 49. Back when I had my rogue on the Silverhand server, a bunch of us did a whole long RPing saga with the killings in Goldshire and Stormwind. Had a blast with that.

I have been considering doing a rogue on the Gurubashi, simply for the fun of being full-time PVP flagged. When I played AC, I played on PVP servers...there's definitely a rush knowing you can be taken out at any time.

fine. eq haters.

about playing on the aircards.
I have a verizon aircard with a 5gb data transfer limit. So far my monthly usage is VERY low, BUT I haven't played EQ on it. How can i determine the data transfer to see how long/ how often I could play?

Yes, that is the unlimited rate.

thx

Beauteous Rot
74 Necromancer!!

We have a Sprint program....using the Sierra Wireless Aircard 595U online gaming works really well.

My husband and my sister in law both use this type of aircard in their trucks on their laptops.....rarely does an issue come up....I actually have one I use at home to connect to the internet as well, discovered it worked much better than what I had been using to connect. There have been areas they have drove through where the aircard would pick up and yet they had no signal on the cell phones....wish I'd have had this nifty gadget a few years back when we were both out and about, glad that we have it now though.

We've played WOW, SWG and a few others through this aircard....just as good running the programs as our old DSL line was here at home.

Might want to check on whatever user support forums there are for EQ and see what others have to say about data usage per month.

I doubt I'll be able to play enough to go over a 5GB/mo. limit, especially if I limit my browsing.

This talk about computers has me thinking I need to post asking about the Kindle.
