Warcraft and wireless internet

Anybody play World of Warcraft and run OTR? What sort of internet connection are you using? Any adapters or providers you recommend?

Unless you're on a reset, in the middle of nowhere. I wouldn't think you would have time to play world of warcraft. Sleep/eat/drive/shower. That's about it? But I guess you could or might be able to for a few moments.

I figure I'm not gonna do any raids, but for 30-60 minutes, I'd rather play WoW than watch TV. And arrange meetups with friends so I can do my resets all over the country :)

What's that 'shower' thing you talk about? Some kinda trucker slang? :)

I don't play but with my Sprint card I have to be pretty close to a big city to get a connection that I would imagine it would take to run that. Or using a idleaire connection.

Stopped playing WoW? That's unpossible!

My first major purchase will be a new laptop. I'm waiting for the new Macs to come out. And if I can't play WoW, I guess it's time to get a copy of C&C. Or start working on my backlog of dvds.

What's an 'idleaire' connection?

http://www.idleaire.com/

Some companies pay for the service but if you want t use their wireless you gotta fork that over yourself. Even if you don't use the service if you park where they have idleaire you can still use the wireless.

It's probably the closest I've come to my home wireless network in regard to speed and the ability to upload and stream video.

That looks nifty. And explains the yellow tubes I've seen at truckstops:)

So they have open wireless? That how you use the wireless w/o using the service?

ul/dl rates for WoW not as important as latency. I think I'll check around the WoW forums and see if anyone knows what a reasonable speed is for playing.

Thanks for the link.

I can play everquest easily on idle aire and flying J signals. petro and pilot (siricomm) block their gaming ports. TA is sometimes playable. Signals vary by location.

p.s. Everquest was here first!

Muds were there before EQ. Don't make me go back further than that :D You play EQ or EQII?
