Would you disagree with this ?

Some companies in times of low unemployment can't keep drivers

Some drivers can't keep a company in times of low employment

Crappy jobs are generally a training job for lousy or new drivers

The very good jobs are for the good drivers with lots of experience

Good companies that treat their drivers well will have less turnover

Crappy companies will have more turnover and more recruiters...

Bingo! a good company will pay their drivers better and treat them better than a coolie carrier like JB , Schnieder, Swift, Werner, Etc. A good company doesn't need recruiters. A good company doesn't sacrifice driver pay and conditions to boost their bottom line. A good company won't hire a newbie, they want people with brains and common sense, not someone that needs to be told what to do every step of the way.

The coolie carriers need recruiters to fill the seats, and the recruiters need turnover to keep their jobs. That is what you call an endless cycle. So as long as the recruiters keep the feeding the fresh starry eyed hopefuls the promises of being high paid tourists, management is happy. It doesn't matter how many stay, just keep the orientations seats full.

Kind of reminds me of time share salesmen. Keep pitching the deal, for every 100 that smell a scam, there are 25 that will jump in. Management sees 25 new sales and they are happy.

i never said it was all the drivers fault for high turnover, but blame is not solely on the company. Cluggy, where doyou get your numbers? 99.9%. c'mon man, you justmake things up to appear to be smart and to try to prove your point. but you will not reply to me so what does it matter. like i said, take your ball and go home...wih a tear in your eye cause you did not get your way. and i am sure you will reply to this cause your other threads show that you can not be the big man and let things go.

I agree with Sheepdancer with the fact that attitude is everything. Sometimes life serves you a $h*t sandwich and you gotta take a bite with a smile on your face. Maybe certain people on here should read some books on positive thinking. A few that come to mind are, "Think and Grow Rich", "The 7 habits of Highly Effective People", "The Magic of Thinking Big", and there are many more. Sheepdancer, I'm sure you have reall ALL of these books.

I think if certain people on this board were to read these books and apply their principles everyday, they would be a lot happier. But then again, some people enjoy being miserable and dragging everyone around them down.

Who is miserable? Maybe if some people would stop reading crap like that, and think for themselves, they would see there is much more to life than dwelling. But then, if everyone did that, there wouldn't be anyone left to recruit, so it is good that some do. The world needs leaders and followers to survive..

People can still take it upon themselves to improve their lives instead of blaming everyone else. Some people just enjoy being miserable. That is their perogative. I just choose not to live that way.

Hey COLT. The point I was making was that everything does not always go your way. And instead of bitching and moaning about it and hating the world, you should use your brain to communicate effectively with the source of the problem. Of course you should stand up for yourself! You shouldn't be a pushover, but you can't be an a$$ either. People will be more willing to help you if you are the bigger person.

Translated- if you don't like the status quo and comment on it, you are bitching and moaning about it and hating the world. Instead of pointing out things that could be changed, you need to join the book of the month club. Somehow, reading a miracle book will fix you right up. It won't change any woes of the industry, but you will feel good and be accepted by the herd. Baaaaaaaa! BBaaaaaaahh!
