Wow, its no wonder the Alaska regulars only like picking their loads up from Seattle and getting the hell outta there. They'd lose their minds getting shut down due to weather with what they drive in up here non stop, it allllll makes sence now. lol

On a side note I was coming from the east once with a haz-mat load and decided to take I-70 just to see what this detour around the tunnel was all about. It was night time and the roads were snow covered by the time I got there. Several near death experiences and hours later I was back on I-70 after finding out what the detour was all about. Let's just say I won't do that again!!!

My dad was born in Leadville. I hated going there to visit, the altitude made me woozy and gave me headaches. He remembers going over that pass all the time in the days before the Eisenhower Tunnel when the family went to Denver.
