roadhog, it was on Colorado's DOT site. Kinda buried deep within their site but here ya go:http://www.cotrip.org/rWeather/All_A...06_192811.html

This page will give you even more info and camera's, the above link is found on this page at "Alerts & Restrictions": http://www.cotrip.org/

This is off Nevada's site that lists all 50 states DOT's:http://www.nevadadot.com/links/other_dots/

They had all the roads listed as closed for about an hour, then they went to chains for everything by 6 pm EST, 4 pm MST.

Yoop, maybe snowmobile?? I just typed as it was showing.

The entire state is now under a Chain advisory as of 9:08pm EST

I was looking at the same place. I guess when I took a look, it was already lifted. Thanks again.

When I first looked at this...it looked like the worst would hit Denver, but where Rick was going looked do-able...although there would be some tough spots. Of course Mountain weather can change quick, for the worst.

I avoid Hwy 70 period this time of the year. I'll run 80 if it looks good, but more often I'm on 40 or 10 California bound. Especially Southern Cal.

If they were by Denver when this decision was made...going south out of Denver would have been worse I think.

Well...lets see what it was like for them.

I'm sure Raton is either closed or chains up sign is out too.

hi ya-all ... well we didn't get far  by the time we got to the west side of Denver the 70 was closed due to accidents and bad weather .... so we are sitting in a truck stop with about 8 inches to one foot on the ground hopefully we will start the climb tomorrow. we loaded in east Denver I thought going to the 80 was best also but our dispatcher disagreed .... so here we sit ... no money ... no fun ... just let it snow snow snow

Hell...I thought you were like already in Denver ready to roll when you first post. ops: Well...at least you are safe and you have a good night to rest up. Will you still run 70? or drop south tomorrow?

Something to put in your Memory bank. I forgot what exit it is but if you're on the West Slope and in the Area of Glenwood Springs there's a Gas Station which is on the north side of the Interstate and there's room for a few trucks in there. Sorry but I forgot the Gas Brand Name.
Glenwood Springs is small so you'll find it. Got snowed in there a few times.

Yooper I believe that is at the 116.

As how to get to Vail pass if the Eisenhower and Loveland are closed, you can go north thru Granby, only like a 9 hour detour. Please don't ask me how I know that.

Damn-that's a new one to me-good job but I'm not sure I'd want to be wandering around bypassing the pass lmao
I can't imagine what that road would be like but I THINK I remember seeing that road and there were alot of warning signs before taking it lol

The gas station was a small one but people were really nice but want your truck moved when they plowed the station.
How and the world did you remember it was 116?? That amazes me.
I'll tell you a story sometime about me and the pass one early morning day :P

O the stories I could tell.....8 years as a Colorado State Trooper. Did most of my time in 6B and that would be Summit and Grand county. That would be the home of the Eisenhower Tunnel, Vail Pass and Loveland Pass.
