Stay off "loveless Loveland"!!!!

It is nasty enough in the summer...in winter.......Don't even think about it.
You will not have to go that way if you can do the Ike tunnel...

but if you must check the conditions of the pass locally with CO DOT cuz they DO close it!

You'll have enough "fun" on I-70 during a storm without trying ole US 6!!!

Good luck and stay safe.

May the Force be with you. Take it slow...30-35MPH while chained.
Well...no doubt you are busy...so we'll look for you on the other side.

The worst looks like the Western slope, and stalling and you can drive through it...if it doesn't get too icy. It's going to be heavy just south of Denver...but you are going west.

I-25, Chains SB only Trinidad-Raton Pass

Loveland Pass via US 6, CLOSED
I-70 at Georgetown, CLOSED
I-70 at the Eisenhower Tunnel, CLOSED
I-70 at Vail Pass, Chains
I-70 at Mt Caynon, Chains

I dunno know bout you, but I would be stopping right NOW and riding it out because it is obvious you won't be going very far before all of 70 is shut down.

Mr. Ford....where are you finding this info?
I'm not able to find the closures you are talking about...
only some chain restrictions.

Help me find where you are looking. Thanks.

What was you're starting point? That's not a very good idea to route you that way. Coming across I-80 to I76 it's only about 60 miles farther to stay on I80 to Salt Lake and drop down I15 but you'd still probably hit some snow. Ideally if you were starting I-55 or east would be to make your way to I-44 and then across I-40 to southern California or somewhere along those lines. This way is about 100 miles longer than through Denver but not time wise because of the mountains, not to mention a snow storm and the stop in Las Vegas!!! :D :D
