Thanks for all the opinions here. I will be contacting them sometime next week to see about getting something going for Christmas. I really like the card table idea...now..where to get one...

And roadhog...that is one ummm..interesting pig picture. I can't figure out whether to laugh or get freaked out by the pig with the big mouth :?
Don't forget to get the truck stops permission.
Also-During Labor Day and some other holidays There are groups that give out free coffee at rest areas. Might want to try this but I'm pretty sure you'd have to go through the State to get permission.

It is but it's sort of a safety thing for the 4 wheelers and truck drivers for them to get out of their cars or trucks and stretch the Legs-catch some fresh air and suck down some coffee. And I NEVER turn down FREE Coffee :P

I have gone to truckstops and paid for a drivers dinner without them knowing until the waitress lets them know it is paid for. Another thing I will do is pick out at least 5 drivers and pay for their drinks whether it is coffee or a milkshake. I just ask the waitress which ones are drivers and tell her what I am doing and pay her and she will redo the tickets. I just tell the waitress to tell the drivers that the meal and/or drinks was paid for by someone that just wanted to say thanks for all they do to keep this country going.

What a wonderful idea! On behalf of those that you have bought a cup of coffee or other beverage, Thank you. I know it was a very unexpected and appreciated gesture.

Outstanding!!!
I won't ask if you are Mennonite/Amish, but you certainly have the heart and grace. Very lovely people... Your spirit is inspiring.

Roadhog I am neither Mennonite/Amish I just like doing kind things for others. We have a friend who hands out bibles and gloves to drivers over in Pa. They do this year round.

I agree with Useless with 3 kids in tow keep them close to you and watch them carefully.

The reason that I do this is because most of my family drives truck and through the years kindness like this has happened to them....the other reason is my husband and I were traveling once when our kids were real small and we had car trouble. A truckdriver went and bought the kids hot chocolate and some fries. He asked if he could get the kids something we told him we had money but he still did this. He never asked for anything in return he just told us to pass the kindness on so that is what we do.
