If you run the roads up here crete drvr just keep your jake on all the time and if you see deer ahead of you back off of the foot feed and give the jake a burst.
Works and much better than those stupid deer whistles you put on your bumper.

How did u know I had those? I actually didn't put them on the gal who had the truck before me did. I guess they cause the deer to move, the problem is you don't know in which direction they'll go! I always have my jake on high but there was absolutely no warning this was going to happen. I always am utilizing high-aim steering scanning back and forth, at night looking in the ditches to see if my high-beams are illuminating any eyes, but this doe just commited kamikaze.

I've always been told not to swerve. If you see the critter on the side of the road and don't know if it's going to jump out into the roadway, just slow down a bit and prepare for impact. I almost hit one a couple weeks ago heading down the Indian Nation Turnpike in Oklahoma. I saw it probably a quarter-mile ahead of me heading toward the roadway. Starting braking and slowing down for it and just as I suspected, it ran right out into my lane, but thankfully it jumped back away as I was about ten feet or so hitting it.
