Locomotives would generally weigh around 65 Tonnes although some were heavier. Much heavier. I remember once moving an old American locomotive and coal tender from Frome in Somerset. The tender was a humongous four axle bastard that weighed 64 Tonne on its own! The only British tender I ever carried which would compare to it-weight wise- was the "Flying Scotsman". Colin Chisnall and I were the last ever truck drivers to move that famous locomotive, it now permanently resides in our National Railway Museum in York.
I,ve always wondered whether any American companies move locomotives around the way we did and if they use those bull nose units of yours. You couldn,t do heavy haul in the U.K and go to really tight places with a unit like that.

This photo is of my very good friend Colin Chisnall taking a locomotive into the centre of Birmingham. Colin is without doubt, one of the best truck drivers in the United Kingdom. I learnt so much from him and he improved my driving beyond all recognition. By that, I mean my ability in very close quarter situations. That rail museum in Birmingham sucks! They should get deliveries via a chinook helicopter, its no place for trucks. The entire route in to there stinks! I only ever went there three or four times and I hated it. I would sweat bucket loads...
