It appears he messed up the sentence structure.

"Coming out of Denver on 287 to hook up with I-80" would have been correct. :P

The DOT officers I've met are pretty nice (I've only met a few). They're just there doing their jobs as I am too. I think they understand that. My first DOT inspection I told the officer that it was my first ever inspection and he laughed and said he'd go easy on me. Shoot he even handed me a knife to take the cap off the compartment that held the trailer registration on. Not too many cops would hand someone a knife. I think its in everyone's best interest to be friendly.

I think he meant 76 heading north to 80

I think he meant 287 from the Ft. Collins area to Laramie to go west on I 80.

Boy look at us all showing off with our vast knowledge of America's freeways... is this REALLY something to be proud of? I have NO LIFE but I know which road you're talking about...

What does "running hot" mean, exactly? Are you talking heavy? Haz-mat? I've not heard that particular phrase before.

In this sense, "running hot" would represent driving when you shouldn't be. Out of hours for the day, over your 70 for the week, etc. It's highly discouraged. Especially for newbies.

I was on i-95 in baltimore about to get on 896---which i wasnt suppose to and got pulled over to that little dot station on the right.....he pulled me in and chkd trl registration(which i didnt have) and license/log/etc..... he checked my log book for the past week with his computer.. i was ok but we talked for a good 30minutes about any and everything! i think i was kinda chatty too for him letting me go so easy

i also was on i-85 mm 10 just outside gastonia NC and was stopped by a Highway Patrolman and he promplty reamed me for any and everything including how only gay people wear the kind of pants i was wearing(they were baggy jeans?) and how his sons friends wear those kinds of pants and how he wont let them come around looking like that! also we were both standing in front of the truck and he told me to step to the left and he abviously meant right and i stepped to the left and he grabbed my arm and put me where he wanted me. horrible experience!
