Default Switch 2 Flatbedding?

Well,well..I've been pulling a dry van for 11 months now,and am thinking about switching to flatbed operations.
I drive for Watkins/Shepard.
I like the idea of longer runs, staying under the same trailer, and of course the extra money.
Plus the challenge aspect of load securement.

Anyone out there have some thoughts on the world of flatbedding?

Thanks
Keith :

Don't know what kind of runs you're getting now, but flatbedding is typically 500 to 700-mile runs, completed on a day to day basis. Not exactly "long" runs. I always preferred the 1000+ mile runs that would keep me rolling for a couple days straight. That way I could enjoy a day or two each week without having to sit and wait or getting dirty. There are probably companies that can give you long runs exclusively. I think TMC has a long-haul division like that, but it also means being away from home longer. And, yeah, the money's good in flatbedding. 8)
