Jumbo your comments are not appreciated. I was asking a sincere question, and you tried to turn it into something sick. :x

Maybe you've had bad experiences in your life, but, don't take them out on other people.

I'm sure you could get a line of guys on this board....
Whoo Hoo I am first in line. You want to marry a trucker? Go to a truck stop, approach a driver and say "Want to get married? There is sex on a regular basis in it for you". You could get married 10 times a day if you want.
Hey. I tried to set her up with a fellow trucker, she doesn't even know him and she said no. And I know he ain't that ugly....

Sure it is, why not, you don't need to be a trucker to be married to one, most of the truckers I know are married and not to other truckers. Truck drivers are just normal guys, with wives and kids, just like everyone else.

If you are looking for a truck driver because you think that it is going to be fun and you are going to be traveling with him all the time I think you are setting yourself up for disapointment. I would just think about finding a good man who has common interests rather than fixating on this fantasy of what it might be like to be with a truck driver.

Yes, it is possible. I have been driving a truck for 13 years
and been married 11 of them. However, my wife did not marry me
because I drive a truck.
You want to marry a trucker because you like going to places?
Just by a bus pass!
It's very tough to be a trucker's wife. Sure, the first few months
might be fun, but sooner than you might think the Interstates,
the truckstops and the loading docks will look the same and
the only thing you're left with is two people in a very confined space.
We all know what that leads to.
Meanwhile back in the ranch, nothing gets done.
You go home to an unkempt house. He won't like that, so
you stay home. If you really love him, you will miss him.
Now you're all alone, doing man's chores.
Being lonely and miserable.
Is that what you want?
But that is just my humble opinion, and as you can see it
my opinion is not very popular on this board.
In any case, I wish you find your guy,
but don't set yourself up for divorce.

In my experice continental..same as yours, but from the other side....
Many guys thought it was cool that their girlfriend drove a truck (me) UNTIL it interfered with my womanly duties. They just couldn't compete with my truck!  They couldn't understand my dedication to my job, they were major intimidated by me, didn't like the fact that EVERYWHERE (literally) I went somebody knew me, etc, etc, etc. It got old real fast, so concequently for 15 years I did my best to avoid men all together. I had 2 girls to raise & no time or patience for dating...men drove me crazy! :P Then 12 years ago I started dating someone I met in the workplace, he was attracted to me because I worked hard & was (& still am) my own person. He liked my attitude, my confidence, my style. To make a long story short he still thinks I'm cool & measures every driver he sees to me. He's seen me at my best & worst & does his level best to keep the home fires burning. He understands when I am so damned tired that I can't even talk, he lets me vent when I am so frustrated that I want to hang it all up. Marraige has nothing to do with what you do, it's who you are.
Trucking can be the best job in the world...or the worst, but specifically looking for a husband/wife cause they drive a truck is a recipe for disaster IMHO.

Being married to a trucker can be difficult. Some find it works well for them, others can't stand the strain. I don't think it is a good idea to marry someone only because of their profession. People are basically the same, regardless of what they do for a living.

That's right, it can be difficult, a trucker needs to have someone who accepts what he/she does for a living, someone who doesn't mind being alone when he/she is gone on the road, someone who can trust him/her while they are on the road. My mother was married to one for 30 years. She did not marry him because of his job.

I think the idea of looking for someone based on their profession is not the way to do it, there are plenty of nice decent guys out there who are not truckers or ranchers, If you like to travel I think you should find someone who like to go on trips together, being with a trucker doesn't mean you will be travelling together, most likely you won't be, and if you do get to ride with him believe me you won't be sightseeing. I think you will be disappointed.

So many women get hooked on a certain type of man and they ignore the nice guys that might be right in front of them.
