I have been researching a career change to driving flatbeds and was very happy to find this thread. Sounds like there are several ladies driving for Maveric. Maybe that is a company I need to investigate. I have been considering TMC, but since finding the info about Maveric, sounds like I need to do some further study. Any additional insight is greatly appreciated.
Keep safe!

I have been driving flatbed for a small local company for a couple of months now. It's really not that different from driving a van except that you may have to tarp, you always have to strap and unstrap, and every load (for me at least) is a live unload. I am getting bored with the local stuff though, and am looking into getting back out OTR. The miles aren't there, and I miss the open road, and the van, but it was important to try flatbed to see if I was any good at it, or if I liked it. I am looking into pulling reefer for Knight now, so we'll see how it goes.

Default Gotta winch?

I've heard the advice about tying a nylon rope on the chain, and throwing it over the truck first.

Has any lady tried using a portable winch? Just asking!
