Lady flat-bedders
Just curious . . . are there any lady flat-bedders?
What company? How old are you (approximate is fine :D )? How long have you been driving flat beds? |
There are a few lady flat-bedders at Arrow. I personaly spent 2 years riding with my BF and he is a flat-bedder.....I could NEVER do that job alone....but some women do.

There are very few lady truckers in the U.K to start with, and I,m sure there are even fewer on flats; And I,m 100% certain there are no lady drivers over here on heavy haul.
Shame as some lady drivers are much better than a lot of bloke drivers :? |
I wouldn't think too many women would want to work that hard. But there would be some. If I was a bit younger, I'd give it a try.

That is super that she is driving flatbed! It is also fantastic that Maverick trucking company can give her the recognition she well deserves. So many companies couldn't care less about their dedicated employees. Male or female.

I don't anymore, I did for a very short time, hauling flats, and B trains, I also used to help my dad as a kid tarping, set up covered wagons, roll up tarps etc.
I am 29 yrs old, I am in very good shape and have the strength to do the work, and I have always been a hard worker, growing up on a farm and all, so I never did mind doing physical work I would like to go back to doing some thing like that where I can do more physical work I personally don't know any women who haul flatbed, It is a little bit more work and you need to be physically able to move tarps around and stuff, this is probably why there aren't more women doing this kind of work |
Lady Flatbeders.....
Hey... I'm going to school with Maveric Jan. 8 to flatbed. My dad was a trucker all his life and always said I should do it. I have never had a problem with physical work. The only thing I see that will be a PIMA is stretching out frozen tarps....gggrrr. Wish me luck : )

I know there are some female flatbedders. It is possible. There's really nothing difficult about flatbedding. Alot of folks that have never done it think it's the toughest thing in the world, but it's really not. Most women can handle a 70lb steel tarp, and typically the forklift operator will toss your lumber tarps up for you. I know I can't handle throwing a 100lb+ lumber tarp over my head so most women couldn't do it either. But it doesn't stop me from hauling azz. No reason it should stop a woman who wants a bit more of a challenge than just opening a set of doors. Really, any woman that thinks anything of herself can do anything a man can do. And excel at it.
