Help needed
I live in Ontario, Canada. I have recently passed my truck-driving road test (in October) and have been searching for a job ever since. Almost every day, I call 2-3 truck driving companies, but none of them have offered me a job because they expect experienced drivers. How can I get experience if nobody wants to hire me? I would appreciate any advice and help. If anybody knows of a truck driving company that hires female drivers as well, please let me know. Thanks a lot!!

Try checking out your local postal distribution facility, trucks delivering mail are contractor owned. They always need drivers for both straight and semi trucks, experience is not as important as CDL and passing background check. Hours are odd, holidays a must, but the pay is good and a good driver can move up fast. I know you don't want to drive local, but you can cover some ground get experience and be home now and again. Remember gotta crawl before you walk!!

I am from Ottawa as well. What school did you graduate from? did they not offer you a co-op with some of the trucking companies they are partnered with?

Hey Ottawa. I've been there myself. It's not easy I know. You're in a catch-22 position. You need a job to get the experience but they want you to have the experience first. You just have to persevere. Don't give up, it will eventually work out. I wish you all the best of luck!! Let us know how things are going. Take care.

Hi I did graduate from Transport Training Centres of Canada Inc. Yes they did offer co-op and I apply in that company but company didn't accept me.
I went to school and asked about the other companies but they haven't more.
What can I do

Normally in the U.K, a newly qualified driver would go through employment agencies until they had enough experience; Is that a viable option for you over there?
