Default Speed limiting a mechanical Cummins

Is there any way to limit top speed on a mechanical n14? Its in a 1991 Pete. My biggest concern with this truck is that its a crane and I dont want someone trying to run 100mph down the road with it. I would like to be able to keep it in the 60-65 range tops. I understand that in doing so I may have to limit rpms, etc. but thats about all I know though. Any help is appreciated. This may be a better place for this question

have you tried going to peterbilt. they might help you with that issue i know most tractors have built in computers. but you will need to have peterbilt spec it to your liking.

I never looked at how they did it, but the company I worked for back in the early '90s had their 350 Cummins governed at 60 mph, and they were mechanical. It is possible, but I don't know what more I can tell you.

How about a low tech throttle stop? Back in "the day" it was't uncommon to just have a bolt thru the floor under the pedal.

Or, something like a "fly-ball" governor on the fan belt.
