They dont even have throttle cables anymore. Now they have electronic motors, so they have toggle switches that you tap, and it bumps up the throttle. Just crazy.

We have a couple of them. Or, the outfit that I do part time farm work for. They have 2 R Model Macks, and we keep those rods in the floorboad. We use them in the winter when we first crank up the trucks.

Just like 3 years ago i drove a 88 International that had one of them. It was a black knob with a red button type of thing in the middle. Had a 350 Cummins Thats would never start below 30 unless you gave it a couple quick shot of eather. But it had a eather start on it. That was a mans truck.

My Co fleet used to be Mack CX613s... We were cautioned to idle'em, (set Cruise), @ 1000RPM.
New trucks are all 9200i's w/C13s.. No word on upping the idle. :? But the Slobber Factor makes sense. Gonna bump mine up n see if anybody comes back at me on the sQualComm aboudit.

Yep-that was the Knob
Surprised you didn't have a compression release Lever-those things were the Cat's meow when it got down around -20. Let the engine spin and slam down the lever and Poof-You've got Ignition :P
