Ok - time for an "end of the tour" wrap up.
To recap, I was assigned the truck on 4/1. I picked up a preloaded trailer at the yard, delivered it, then picked up a load that got me home on 4/2. I then left on 4/4. I got home today, 4/29. I'll be home until 5/3.
Total days out: 26
Total miles routed: 10162 (paid @ $0.32 per mile)
Total miles driven: 10516
Total trips hauled: 18 (2 with 2 stops @ $30 per stop)
Total trailers hooked to: 17
Average trip length: 564 miles (shortest was 90 miles, longest was 1,650 miles)
Drop/Hook rate: Even though I didn't go through and actually count, I think I had *maybe* 7 or 8 live unload or loads
Average load weight: I *think* I had 2 loads that topped 37,000#. Most loads were in the 15-20,000lb range.
When I left on the 4th, I sent my hometime request at that time. They sent me home without me even so much as giving them a reminder. I unloaded 168 miles from home and they sent me an empty move (paid miles) to get me home and sent a message saying to enjoy my weekend and they would talk to me on Monday.
So far, other than missing my 1,500 watt inverter, I'm really happy here. I've had very little problem with dispatch (even weekend/night) and everything seems to go pretty smooth. When I have a question, no matter the time of day/week, sending it on the Qualcomm gets a response within minutes.

Glad it all worked out for ya. I could never even come close to staying out 26 days. More power to you.
Are you always going to be out for a month at a time??
Anyway best of luck to you and i hope things stay good.

When my wife is with me, we'll stay out that long. When she's not in the truck, then I'll do 2 weeks at a time. The plan is that she'll be riding with me most of the time now.

I was doing some work in the truck yesterday (at home) and noticed that I got a new message on the QC. When I read it, I was quite pleased. When the economy tanked, Celadon put a wage freeze on all drivers. Well, that's now been lifted. They're once again giving drivers a $0.01 per mile raise every 120,000 driven for them. I'm figuring that the next thing they'll do is raise their 30,000 mile vacation pay back to the $1,000 per week instead of the $600 they're currently paying.
Very good news indeed.

I'm finishing up a trip that took me from Plainfield, IN to Seattle, WA to Portland, OR and ends in Evansville, IN. The total for the round trip is just over 5,100 miles or so. I couldn't begin to tell you the last time I worked for a company that gave a solo driver that kind of hauls.
I was sitting at the yard in Indy, just got the truck out of the shop (in for 48 hours). When I sent my "ready for a load" macro, I followed it up with a message that said something like "the further west the load goes, the better". Well, I couldn't go much further west, that's for sure.
