Schneider National dedicated Wal-Mart out of Henderson, NC. Took the job because home most nights, 4 out of 5, with 2 consecutive days off each week. Mine our Tues and Weds. Pay is ok and I don't run out of NC/VA much. Once in awhile to TN (we do the Sams Clubs in Johnson City and Bristol, TN) and Florence & Myrtle Beach, SC (again Sams Clubs). No waiting around for backhauls or loads. When we are empty we get a preplanned backhaul that we know of before we leave or come back empty. Downside: starting times for the loads vary so one day I might start at 0800 and the next at 1700 and run all night. Upside I guess to that is I might get in on Sat at 2100 and not go back till 1700 on Sun. If I'm sent a load that I can't do because of hours or I'm too tired from running all night I call and they take it off of me. No questions.

Job is ok. Step up from otr in my opinion because I like to be home.

Sorry, Champ, the economy has shut down pretty much all hiring, Texas too.. But we cycle right along with the economy, no different than other industries..
The question is, how long can you hold out? Reality is that you'll be hired on to something else when we re-open our recruiting! It never fails!
But I'll still recommend us when the time comes...

Best o luck!

I saw a McElroy daycab today north of Raleigh. Do you guys have a yard near here or is it a dedicated account that you park onsite for?
