From what I understood, I think he is/was an LTL driver. But for the life of me I can't remember who he worked for. With Some LTL you do get paid for darn near everythng you do, just got to put up with a ton of crap to get a decent spot.

He probably never has driven a truck, most likely has his license revoked, so he sits on the forum all day to bad mouth everyone/thing else, so he can feel like a tough guy !
Then show me anything about my original post in this thead that's untrue.

Trouble is, I'm right and that's what makes you guys pissed off.

OTR trucking is nothing but labor racketeering. Why you people work so many hours for what the job pays is beyond me.

The only thing that pi$$es me off, is that YOU target the drivers...not the Carriers.

Like JD suggested...change your tune...the delivery has gotten old. :moon::moon:

Because not every outfit is like you say CFM. You had a bad experience and so you believe they are all the same. Here's a newsflash for you, some local outfits, OTR or LTL ain't no better yet you tell everyone they are. I know of 2 locally to me that are worse off than going OTR with CR England.

I know a guy who chooses to stay out for 2 months or more at a time. He teams with his wife as a bedbugger for Wal-Mart and together are making well over $150K. Everything they do, they get paid for or the company pays for it with the company issued credit card they were given. If the person they are moving isn't ready or they get to the destination before the family, Wal-Mart puts them in a hotel and not a little 1 star one, a 4 to 5 star one if available in that area along with a rental car. Granted this is Wal-Mart but ya, your full of it that it's EVERY OTR company that treats you like dirt.

There is no perfect job or perfect company. What makes a perfect job or company by one may not be the same for another.

Out at least 2 weeks, roll the dice when you want to get home for 2-3 days...normal people get 4 days off every 10 days and only work 40 hours\week.
No overtime after 8\40 hours like all other blue-collar workers.
You'll be encouraged and expected to break federal law by fudging the logbook.
An OTR "weekend" = roll in Friday night/Saturday morning...leave out Sunday night.
No pay for fueling the company truck, breakdowns, inspecting company equipment, scaling loads, dealing with shippers/receivers, stuck in traffic, dropping/hooking trailers, 2 hours at every dock you bump, etc, etc, etc, etc...
Log 70, work 80-100, paid for 50 (on a good week).

Have I worked for Epes? No, but they're all the same...just different colored trucks.

Why are these OTR companies hiring when everyone else is laying off, cutting hours\pay, hiring freezes, etc in response to the recession\depression? Because these jobs suck and nobody wants them.

RUN AWAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You attack this company and make general statements about drivers that are not necessarily true. As far as I know Epes is a good company. If you have personal knowledge about a specific company you wish to share, fine. We are not going to tolerate anyone who wants to come onto this forum and berate and belittle those who earn their living in trucking. This country would come to a screeching halt in a matter of days if truckers didn't do their jobs. Most carrier's want their drivers to run compliant. To make a blanket statement about carriers and otr drivers whom you have no knowledge is reckless and has no place on this forum. If all you can do is put down this industry then you should pack up your verbal trash and take it somewhere else.

A few more posts and he would have busted himself. He sounds like a broken record. Within ten posts he's back to the same old song and dance no matter what name he uses.

Thank you MODs for getting rid of this useless poster.

until next time. wonder what the next name will be.
