Good or bad/epes transport
Can someone tell me about epes transport out of greensboro, nc. The good the bad.

You won't get paid for all the miles you drive.
Empty out Friday at 1400 and wait around in a truckstop (if there's a truckstop around where you empty out) for 2-4 unpaid hours waiting for a load. Qualcom beeps with a 200 mile load that delivers Monday 0800....if you get any load at all with all this slow freight. Out at least 2 weeks, roll the dice when you want to get home for 2-3 days...normal people get 4 days off every 10 days and only work 40 hours\week. No overtime after 8\40 hours like all other blue-collar workers. You'll be encouraged and expected to break federal law by fudging the logbook. An OTR "weekend" = roll in Friday night/Saturday morning...leave out Sunday night. No pay for fueling the company truck, breakdowns, inspecting company equipment, scaling loads, dealing with shippers/receivers, stuck in traffic, dropping/hooking trailers, 2 hours at every dock you bump, etc, etc, etc, etc... Log 70, work 80-100, paid for 50 (on a good week). Have I worked for Epes? No, but they're all the same...just different colored trucks. Why are these OTR companies hiring when everyone else is laying off, cutting hours\pay, hiring freezes, etc in response to the recession\depression? Because these jobs suck and nobody wants them. RUN AWAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Derek...When reading this particular style poster(ing)....take it with a grain of salt. Maybe one of those salt blocks for cattle you can buy at the feedstore would work best. Research postings by "ColdFrostyMug", LebronJames, and most recently Mike Hunt (just to name a few) so that you can get a good understanding of this guy's view of Over The Road driving and drivers. :moon::moon::moon: |

Why do they continue to allow that idiot to come back under one persona after another?? |
Cuz he's a tooooooooool, has no real life and thinks he can come in here and get some kind of attention.
He probably never has driven a truck, most likely has his license revoked, so he sits on the forum all day to bad mouth everyone/thing else, so he can feel like a tough guy ! |
I read the stuff about 'fudging' the logbook...thats going on as we speak in truck cabs all across
this nation....its nothing new. (Its Doubtful any company verbally is encouraging this habit...its simply the position drivers are put in due to the nature of frieght movement) The trick to it is...one must overcome thier fear of prison and hugh fines Other than that...trucking is same as its ever been. The highway looks the same regardless of whoz name is on the truck. |

Based upon what he told us in the past, ColdFrostyMug/MikeHunt/TiredTrucker/GodOnlyKnowsWhoElse abandoned his truck when he drove OTR. He couldn't get an OTR job if he wanted one. |
