Fantasy Trucking - This is when a totally fictional series of posts is 'planted' on a message board in order to boost the reputation of a large trucking company. The tip-off here is this Lady Di starts off on Page One thanking CAD for the good information she found from this site to help her make her decision to go Swift. You gotta be kidding. Do you guys think everybody reading this is a moron?
|
Your statements, (ie entire post) has no merit. I never claimed that CAD's information "helped" me to decided on joining Swift as a driver. My decision to join Swift was based on my personal preferences as should be the case for any driver wanting a career move.
CAD does provided excellent information and is a very valuable resource. The best understanding of how things work is gained from asking those that have had first hand experience.

If this 'former state accountant' isn't a
nitwit, she would never have decided to go with Swift, and she would
never have written this tripe.

This statement makes no sense to me, but I am focusing in on the reference to me being a "nitwit". My response to that is you have never met me and have no basis for the label. As stated above, I chose Swift based on personal preference and after research.
In turn, I have never met you and cannot begin to dissect your words and add any true rational to their purpose.
What I can offer you is facts.... what I have written in this comes from true experience in hopes of giving first hand information to those looking for it. I have never once presented Swift from a recruiter's perspective and have been very careful to offer facts fairly free from personal opinion.
Hopefully this clarifies the whole premise of the post for you, Marcel

This is too funny.
OK, Marcel, you're right, it's a conspiracy. The entire internet is a conspiracy. Run along and play, now.

I was teasing back as well... (implying that you knew I was "busted")
Thanks for the well wishes. I have acquired such a respect for the profession now. It is truly amazing what you all do to make a living. I hope to fit it.

Things are going along and I have two weeks left with a mentor/trainer. The first week was spent learning how to use the Qualcomm, and the subsequent weeks learning how to back up and drive in various conditions. Monday of this week during a pretty substantial rain, a car traveling along side of me hydroplaned pretty drastically and lost control doing a pretty good spin. He ended up going rear end into the left shoulder and stuck for a bit. Very lucky he didn't come across into me and that the cars behind were able to stop. Hopefully he went and bought new tires that afternoon.
All and all the mentor/trainer experience has been fine. The really only expectations I had coming in was to learn company policies and to become a better driver. I have gotten the opportunity to become a better driver and still have much more to learn.
PS. Glad to be able to sign back on CAD. I have missed all the wisdom! (and other "stuff"

So all in all, Do you think in your honest opinion you are getting as much mentoring as you need or is it lacking in some places? And do you think you made the right decision as far as the company you went with?
